@BALTAGY et al. Does TNod work for ESET Internet Security? In v10, this is the closest thing to ESS.

Yes! if it didn't insert the license you can do it manually for now until the final come out

Guys the Smart Security it's really done for new buyers,:

" * ESET Smart Security 10 is only available by renewal for existing ESET Smart Security users.  "

Well I bought ESSv9, so when is available to download, I will share the link here ^^

It really looks like there is no difference between the EIS and ESS version for v10. Internet Security doesn't have anti-theft which v8 and v9 did, but I never used anyway because I used TNOD. I can't see a download link for ESS v10 so I guess it doesn't matter.

On the ENGLISH-US websites it only shows 3 choices. EAV, EIS, ESSP, I think I will just use EIS, it is ESS v9 just without anti-theft and password manager which people are saying is causing crashes. So no big deal. TNOD beta works with EIS v10. Confirmed here, clean install working.

Only shows version 10.0.369 here on English-US. No 10.0.369.2 as other have posted. Definitions updated automatically. v14377 as of this post.

The link for all languages is the same , just change  "enu" to your language, in my case "ptb" :P

comparison features of each version

This graphic shows the 3 new versions of ESET NOD32 and the greyed out one is the one that will be discontinued, which is ESET Smart Security. R.I.P. ESS v9 <

There is no difference between the NEW EIS v10 and ESS v9 and lower, except for the fact that ESET Internet Security doesn't have the anti-theft anymore which ESS did, but I never used it anyway and I don't think anyone did either with a fake license.

We should make note that the NEW ESS Premium does not work with the ESS keys. Looks like those will be a seperate generation of key types as I have tried difference keys and TNOD all telling me that key is not valid for this version, please download other version or dismiss.

On the ENGLISH-US websites it only shows 3 choices now. EAV, EIS, ESSP. So looks like we are going to have 3 key-types now for ESET. EAV keys, EIS keys, ESSP keys. I think premium will be junk anyways for only 3 extra features (Anti-Theft, Password Manager, Secure Data). So no point to use that version anyways. EIS it is.

:)

I was just wondering if you could update and install EIS over ESS, thanks Sonar.

Fresh install is recommended for sure since they are 2 versions, to avoid any problems may happen

My own experience under a Shadow Defendered Win10 (1607) 64 bits French edition :

  1. ESS 9 with tnodup key activated was installed and works well since a long time
  2. Then I install Eset Smart Security Premium over ESS9 ... after some minutes ESSP complains and asks for an activation key.
  3. As I can't get a valid key, I just install Eset Smart Security over the previous installation (ESSP) so now I have ESS (not Premium) and I can activate it with tnodup 1.61.b2.
  4. Seems working well.

So I can confirm that, at this time, there is no way to activate the new ESSPremium.

That ESS 10 is still working (?? maybe you need to first have the version 9 installed ??)

Have 2 yrs left on exp date; so if I installed new 10 ess over 9 ess would the license continue or need to be updated, thanks.

when you upgrade to "normal" ESS 10 license should remain active but you'll lose activation when license gets blacklisted

clean install is the best and always the recommended way to go incase of errors on top of installing on old version. I removed my ESS v9, reboot computer and install fresh EIS v10 to not have any issues, just incase. Everyone computer is different.

I have a valid license for ESS that was given to me. But, it expires 2/16/2017 and I probably won't get another one.

For those that want REMOVE ESS v8 v9 and do a CLEAN INSTALL of EIS v10, but want to KEEP CURRENT ESS V9 LICENSE, follow these steps:

  1. Right click ESET ICON and Pause protection on EAV or ESS v9 (until next reboot)
  2. Go to Tureko Blog: Tukero Blog :: TNod, ESET, Software, Windows 7/8, Android
  3. Download: TNod-1.6.1-Beta-Portable.rar
  4. Extract to desktop and run file: Recover Current License.bat
  5. Save your current license into a text file on desktop.
  6. Delete TNod-1.6.1-Beta-Portable.rar and folder
  7. Run EAV or ESS v9 Uninstaller and completely remove NOD32 from system
  8. REBOOT COMPUTER
  9. Install new version of EAV v10 or EIS v10 and copy & paste your license from .txt file that you saved.
  10. Congratulations! Enjoy CLEAN INSTALL v10 ESET PRODUCTS

* make sure ESET protection is paused otherwise it will not let you download file or visit website*

** if using EAV v8 or ESS v9 with box-mara-fix reboot in safe mode first and remove fix before install new version 10**

I only posted these steps for those that want to do a CLEAN INSTALL of v10 and remove v8 or v9 of ESET from their computer if you do not want to upgrade on top but save your current working license. I did this method because I have a good license that I did not want to lose, but I wanted to do a fresh install as freshness is always better then an upgrade.

Good luck to everyone :)

I see no big difference in performance still using much ram ( But still not heavy on system ) not as the beta was about 70mb when i tested it, installed it 1h ago and it's 155mb ( it become 174mb while writing the post lol )

Also i see ekrn and egui is now working as 64bit

Parental Control is annoying again it keep yellow because i didn't set a password for the settings, it was solved in v9 after many reports

@heyyahblah [As I posted above, my license expires 2/16/2017]. The box-mara fix did not work for ESS v9? And, I would expect that it will not work for v10?

Read @heyyahblah post carefully he told you how to backup the license if it's paid one, also if you used any activator you need to deactivated it first

1. My license is expiring soon. So, I am not interested in backing it up.

2. My real question was whether the box-mara fix still works? I am pretty sure it did not work for ESS v9. If this is true, we should not expect it to work for v10?

For sure it's not working also as been said many many times using activators don't update modules, so why bother updating the software if you ignore updating modules ?

Best option is to use key's

If interested on this new Eset 10, then install the one you prefer ( Nod32 or ESS) - ( always a clean install ), find on Net a valid key and wait for Tnod. Keys for v.9 also work on v.10.

Nothing more can be done.
