anuraag
Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier. Google Chrome also uses a brand new javascript engine (V8), which is much faster than existing javascript interpreters. This means you can create more complex and more intensive AJAX applications with fewer speed and processing constraints. Finally, Google Chrome is built on top of Blink (WebKit fork), so Google Chrome users will benefit from the CSS3 features being added to Blink (WebKit fork) as those features are released. Plexxor
It is unfortunate that at this site: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/google_chrome_portable they almost always run back with the newer versions, so the last portable version is still Version 53.0.2785.

Just like always, simply disable GoogleUpdate.exe auto-start. You can use the Registry Editor or Autoruns, or any Startup Manager. This file located always %ProgramFiles%\Google\Update (if 32-bit system) %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Google\Update (if 64-bit system) You may also disable GoogleUpdaterService.exe auto-start it is in folder %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Google\Common\Google Updater (64-bit pc) or %ProgramFiles%\Google\Common\Google Updater (32-bit pc) In registry it is all in these places DisplayName - Google Software Updater HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\gusvc DisplayName - Google Update Service (gupdatem) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\gupdatem

I see there are more than one update.exe file. One is in C:\Program Files\Google\Update and a few more in C:\Program Files\Google\Update\1.3.31.5 . 13 minutes ago, Actarusse said: Or disabled in task scheduler Can you give me a link or perhaps tell how task scheduler is used to disable it? Actarusse
Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Schedules Tasks (or search for Task Scheduler in Control Panel) . Look for Active Tasks, delete all Google Auto Updates Tasks
