anyone know the web address from adobe(Macromedia) for the stand alone versions like I used to be able to get? Their regular links give you online installer. Thanks.

A fews months ago, Adobe has announced to abandon the page Distribution3. Then now, we can't use it to find some informations like the link for the offline installer...

Nevertheless, like WALLONN7 said, yes just change the number to get it because for now the link still work.

And if remember right, Adobe has a FTP but I don't know the url... At least, the page releasenotes still exist but the link has never figure on this one.

Adobe ftp link has no updates for flash player, shockwave player... I use it for Reader and Acrobat updates...

It's very old, I wasn't aware and indeed that's true about Reader, by the past, I used to do the same thing.

I use these (I'm pretty sure they're the standalone installers):

 

Firefox:
