How to open Excel 2016 file with unknown password?

I had created 1 password protected excel file using excel 2016 long back. Unfortunately I have forgot the password.  I also don't remember the number of characters used for password. Is there any means by which the password protection may be disabled (using any add-Ins/macros)? I have tried Brute Force attack but it is taking hell lot of time for recovery. If any reliable s/w  is known to you for recovery purpose, then please do inform me

Regards.

Just use VBA/macros. The web is full of those. I've managed to find a very difficult one onece.

Try this

http://www.instructables.com/id/VBA-Code-To-Unlock-A-Locked-Excel-Sheet/step2/Cut-And-Paste-The-Code-Breaker/

or google for sth else.

Dude but the code which has been given is for  enabling editing in a locked excel sheet which is already opened. But in my case, Excel sheet is not opening as I don't know the password. So I am interested in either password recovery or password removal for UNOPENED excel sheet.

Regards.
