Internet Download Manager (IDM) is a tool to increase download speeds, resume and schedule downloads. Comprehensive error recovery and resume capability will restart broken or interrupted downloads due to lost connections, network problems, computer shutdowns, or unexpected power outages. Simple graphic user interface makes IDM user friendly and easy to use. Internet Download Manager has a smart download logic accelerator that features intelligent dynamic file segmentation and safe multipart downloading technology to accelerate your downloads. Unlike other download managers and accelerators Internet Download Manager segments downloaded files dynamically during download process and reuses available connections without additional connect and login stages to achieve best acceleration performance.

Thanks to jordan4x and BLAite for the update.

Guys, All of a sudden my IDM won't even start...

6.26 build 2 was working ok and then I decided to update to 6.26 build 3 that I got from Nsaneforums,, a routine which was all too common for me (like you guys too I guess), so I did the usual uninstall, reboot install etc just like usual. It all seemed to go as per normal, then I had to click on the icon twice to start it but it did start. I thought that was unusual but no problem. I never used it to download anything but had to get off the internet for a while, so I closed Firefox, killed the internet connection and did the usual CCleaner & R-Wipe&Clean internet clean routine like usual.. I did my offlline thing then got back on the internet. I clicked on the icon to launch IDM but it failed to start, I clicked on it again and again but it wouldn't start. Hmmm, I right clicked on the icon and went to launch with Admin rights and a message that it would start but I wouldn't be able to download with it also appeared. I started it anyway and it then went to YouTube and did a trial to see if it would work or not. It began downloading the first video I loaded up and then Firefox (v49.0) locked up and IDM disappeared. I used task manager kill Firefox and also noticed that IDM was not in memory, so I clicked on it again and it still wouldn't launch. I uninstalled it, rebooted and installed another Pre-activated version also downloaded from Nsaneforums.. Now I got the Fake serial message and I can't remember if I closed it, or it closed by itself, but I uninstalled that too, rebooted and started CCleaner and used the registry cleaner in it and got rid of a truckload of IDM entries still left after the IDM total uninstall I did, as opposed to the default uninstall, which leaves settings etc behind. I re-installed the first version and it still wouldn't start up, now it won't even load with admin rights, so something's gone wrong. When I started Firefox it did say it couldn't find the necessary files to run IDM and to check for an updated version. I have all the latest plugins etc for Firefox and I always got the message that IDM integrated with FF when I installed it.. Again I uninstalled, rebooted and cleaned out registry and here I am...

The only thing that has happened lately is the Win10 Anniversary update 2 days ago.. Apart from that, nothing new...

Anyone have any suggestions...??? (I'm going to try a few more times to get it going, but something tells me it isn't going to..)

I haven't had your problems, but I have found that it works for me using XenoCoder's fix from 6.26 build 2. Worth a try if you haven't tried it yet. It is here:

Vaelor,,

Sorry for taking so long to reply (Oh, hang on, I see you only replied 9 mins ago), I haven't been able to reach Nsaneforums since moments after I posted my question above, 3 days ago.. I cured the problem, and it was a big problem too.. I recently updated to the Win10 Anniversary v1607 build 14393.178, actually Windows updates itself, but during the update some things were changed and one of them was quite serious in my case.. I found for some reason that virtually nothing, apart from system programs could alter registry settings.. This meant that most 3rd party software could install but not be configured and in the case of IDM, it simply wouldn't even fire up - totally unrecognised by the system as not reg settings existed. After having to reconfigure a few other programs, I soon realized that not one of them was holding its new settings. With IDM, as soon as I uninstalled the existing build 2 and tried the very one you speak of above, right from the first try, it wouldn't work. I tried several other releases and all suffered the same fate. Anyway, it took me a day or two to realize that registry access was at fault and I had to redo all permissions to all registry hives,, something I do not like messing with but it was absolutely necessary. Now everything seems to work ok... BUT after that, I couldn't reach this site for the past few days, until a few minutes ago...

Thanks for your reply. I see you have the same flag too.. Nice one brother...!!!
