Recruit
Hi people, I am looking to buy a new DSLR camera within the following weeks. According with my budget, I have to choose between these : Canon EOS 750D Nikon D5300 Which from these one is the best ? Why ? This will be my first DSLR. Until now I had only compact cameras. Thanks for your help !
flash48
Both cameras are rated the same. It really comes down to personal choice. Go to a camera store and try out each camera. See which one fits better in your hand and fits your shooting style. Make sure the all the controls are easy to reach for your fingers. Also you should determine what kind of lenses you require and see which brand will fit your needs. For example sports and wild life a require telephoto lens, close up require a macro lens. etc... Here are the reviews for each camera: https://www.dpreview.com/products/canon/slrs/canon_eos750d https://www.dpreview.com/products/nikon/slrs/nikon_d5300
straycat19
Nikon and Canon have always run neck and neck. My preference has always been for Canon. I bought my first one in 1968 (FT w/55mm 1.2) and between then and 1988 I bought every SLR that Canon made: FT, AE-1, T50/90, F-1 System. I still have my complete F-1 system (Sports Finder, focusing screens, lenses, flashes, etc) and my original FT, that weighs as much as a brick. Currently I use a 7D and carry a couple small PowerShots also. Canons have always served me well, rock solid, and I prefer the Canon mounting system for the lens over the Nikon, which was my primary reason for sticking with Canon to begin with. There are even adapters that allow me to use my lenses from the 60s onward with my DSLR. I use a TP-Link WiFi connected to my Canon with DSLR Controller from Google Play to remotely control the camera with both my Android phone and tablet. That comes in very handy for family reunions, since I don't have to walk around with the camera, just sit it on a tripod and walk around with my phone. VileTouch
depends on how much money you have to burn. but since you already have some canon gear, it might be better to just stick with that. (i'm stuck with a Nikon D90 for quite a while, but it still holds up...for now)
nickhog
Recruit, Just a suggestion but, you may want to do a little research into the different DSLR formats... That would be DX and FX format... It's a price driver but, has extreme affect on final photo quality.... Personally, I'm a NiKon fan mainly for the lens interchangeability/comparability/availability and price..... To me they tend to lean toward more Red/Green colors while the Cannon tends to lean toward the Blues... Just My Opinion....
