I have a small problem with the;

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer (3183038)

Published: September 13, 2016

It has affected all my url links in my favorites folder. When I click on a link, the "File Download-Security Warning" window pops up and I have to confirm to open!

I am running Win 7 Ultimate 64

I noticed the same problem in my Windows 10 Pro, but only if I click one of my Favorites bookmarks from StartIsBack++ Start Menu.

Yeah, that's right. I did this from my start menu in Win 7. No problem on clicking links from the browser!

Security feature to prohibit clicking on hotlinks in documents and other places malware links can hide.

TMROKS,

1. Go to Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View -> TickShow hidden files, folders, and drives” -> Apply -> OK

2. Go to Favorites folder and delete desktop.ini file.

3. Open subfolder Favorites Bar and delete desktop.ini file

4. Go back to Favorites folder -> Choose any bookmark and click on it -> Press CTRL+A keys -> Right Clik -> Choose Cut -> Paste them to your Desktop

5. Drag them back, one by one to Favorites folder

IMPORTANT !!

There are desktop.ini files on your Desktop. Let them there!

6. Open Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View -> Tick ”Don't show hidden files, folders, or drives” -> Apply -> OK

7. Restart your PC

You must run the two commands each time after you make a new bookmark, otherwise you will see ... the "File Download-Security Warning" window pops up, when you wanna open that new bookmark.
