I have used Revo Uninstaller for years and use it to track installs so if I later remove them it knows where every piece of data was put and every registry setting changed and can remove all of it. Paft
Can people actually give reasons to their answers...Absolutely pointless otherwise. We know Revo and Total are popular and work well but he is asking which and why. Well, I am now.

Jordan
i used both leading programs. Revo Uninstaller and Total Uninstall Both are better than the built-in windows tool However, there is mostly something which needs to be manually deleted For optimal results, you need to monitor installations if you install a program and use those uninstallers afterwards, there will be more leftovers

Simply, just clean them with ccleaner & w7manager.

luisam
Normally I remove uneeded apps with Your! Uninstaller but some stubborn apps might need the use of several uninstallers until get the system "free". Options might be Revo or Total.
payday
I use and recommend Uninstal Tool. IMHO the best of the best!
donaddams
Another one to consider is ( Chemtable ) Soft Organizer, it will take a snap shot before and after installation and the uninstall process works good; and they have another product called reg organizer that has soft Organizer combined with a registry cleaner and some other features; I have Licenses for Revo, soft organizer and reg organizer. I use reg organizer most of the time. Right now there is a giveway going on for Soft Organizer and Reg Organizer. Giveaway source: http://www.comss.info/page.php?al=Soft_Organizer_free (page in Russian, use Google Translate if needed).
