anuraag
VirtualBox is an application installed on an existing host operating system; within this application, additional operating systems can be loaded and run, each with its own virtual environment. For example, several Linux distributions can be hosted on a single machine running Windows XP; likewise, XP and Vista can run on a machine running Linux, and so on. There is a free for personal or evaluation use proprietary version and a GNU General Public License (GPL) version. Thanks to SalaR for the update.Download
ajdibi
Install this version with caution. Since installing v5.1.6, my keyboard no longer works with any of my VMs. This issue has also been reported on Oracle's forums by another user, but with no replies to the thread just yet. SteveSi
If you want to boot directly from a USB drive with full read\write access under the VM (not snapshotted) use DavidB's VMUB Windows utility together with VBox. https://github.com/DavidBrenner3/VMUB (link for download at top of page). There is a YouTube video on VMUB too.
