Android 7.0 Nougat for Lenovo Vibe C A2020a40

I have never fun of Smart Phones but I got Lenovo Vibe C A2020a40 as a present. When I got this Smart Phone I was searching latest Android to Update however this update has not apply for my Mobile device and can not find if there is any manually way!

Android version:5.1.1 ---> Currently there is no System Update available from About Phone.

Build number:A2020a40_S_S148_160708_8G_ROW

Some website advised to register via Sign into the Google account associated with that phone. I have no luck my device not eligible ...

I have sometime to search on Google

There is manually upgrade for Nexus Devices:

How to flash the Android N or Android Marshmallow factory image on Nexus devices

http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/how-to-install-android-factory-image/5/
http://www.androidcentral.com/how-get-android-70-nougat-your-nexus-right-now

I was just wondering if anyone know or come across similar instruction manually flashing and installing Android 7.0 Nougat for other Mobile Device Manufacturer and Model Name such as Lenovo Vibe C A2020a40. Thanks before.

Moved from software chat.

You won't get Android N for Lenovo Vibe C A2020a40.

If you are looking for flashing Custom Rom then you should buy a mobile which is developer friendly. Most likely Mid range device to flagships.

Edit: Flashing Rom isn't like installing windows where you run same iso on different systems.

Hi @november_ra1n

Being an Android Developer myself (I build Custom ROMs for Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G) I want you to know that it's not like Windows that you can install new versions of Android on any phone.

The thing is your device manufacturer has to build the latest version for the specific device and then ship it via OTA.

In case it doesn't then you need to find Custom ROMs if the device has them available, such as CyanogenMod, AOKP, ResurrectionRemix etc.

If not then you or some other experienced developer needs to build/compile it on a linux machine by downloading the Android Source Code (~20-25GB) and specific device/kernel source code (only if open source).

So in conclusion, you cannot upgrade your phone unless the manufacturer updates it or you/someone builds an OS for it from scratch itself.

PS: My phone didn't even got Android 5.0 (stuck on v4.4 KitKat by Xiaomi) but by self-building CyanogenMod 13 (Android 6.0.1) I can use Marshmallow now :D

Regards.

Any custom build for Android 6.1.1 Marshmallow..!

This device is somehow new (released May 2016) . , so i guess no developer has its hands on it until now . . , there's no Custom ROM for it (as of now) . .

BTW there is no 6.1.1 version of Android , the Latest version of Marshmallow is 6.0.1

There is nothing in XDA Forums about that model, so, you have to wait till there is a new kernell for your device, in order to update Android.

For my experience, the only devices with a lot of updates, are Nexus.
