Any way cannot understand why convert DVD to ISO Image?

Spoiler

An ISO image is an archive file of an optical disc, a type of disk image composed of the data contents from every written sector on an optical disc, including the optical disc file system.[1] ISO image files usually have a file extension of .iso. The name ISO is taken from the ISO 9660 file system used with CD-ROM media, but what is known as an ISO image might also contain a UDF (ISO/IEC 13346) file system (commonly used by DVDs and Blu-ray Discs).

ISO images can be created from optical discs by disk imaging software, or from a collection of files by optical disc authoring software, or from a different disk image file by means of conversion. Software distributed on bootable discs is often available for download in ISO image format. And like any other ISO image, it may be written to an optical disc such as CD or DVD.

What I really need is to clone a DVD of the software's Sage 50 Pro that I bought. The idea is to keep safe the original disk and use the clone as a work copy .

Please let me know the software that help me accomplished it.

Thanks

You can simply make a new folder in your computer and copy the whole content ( all files and folders ) of the dvd there.

Or, if you want, you can make a dvd image and you can mount it with a virtual drive.

You can use these tools to do that :

Good luck !  ;)

I tried it but when checked the size of the DVD and the size of the copy folder in the PC, they differed.

The copy of the PC is smaller. Is this normal?

In general way, this shouldn't be normal. Maybe the dvd has some protections.

Try to make an iso with those tools and mount that iso with a virtual drive and see what it will happen further.......

make iso with ImgBurn

burn disk to have your 2nd physical copy

install program from that 2nd physical copy to check that indeed it is fine

nothing more than that is needed

Make sure to check the extension of the file you are making. Some softwares save in a different, compression supporting extension and such.
