Dear Readers,

Okay just realized this when it caused a problem...

For Fonts in Win7 64-bit, I noticed that I can't delete fonts... And I've tried a few Font Organizers to correct this without luck...

There is one program "Fontonizer" that found a LOT of copies of this font I'm trying to fix... But it can't seem to delete it...

So I was wondering if anyone happened to know of a good program that can help fix this problem.

The thing is.. When I enter Windows->Fonts, I don't see the font that I want to have fixed...

Not too sure if any more info is needed.

I don't have 7, but when you looked and searched for the font, view the details for the result... then you it should at minimum, be enlightened on where it will be located. The main one should be the largest file as well. Next go to the physical location of the results and check that these are not links to the font. For instance some programs will do this, I forget which one did this do me once, but it happened, and deleting the link doesn't work, and they will actually reside in the program folder with a link in other places. The font itself will remain. The main file can also have nothing to do with the name.. and if its a system file or in use it may not allow you to delete or uninstall it.. Last but not least IF you get as far as deleting it restart your system and check your changes...

Do you know the extension of the file? Like is it a .ttf, .otf, .fon, or what...

What is the font, more importantly whats wrong with it?

It's for a fansubbing group so it's symbols.

Here's a link to it:

Extension is .ttf

When I try to open it I just get a blank preview...

EDIT:

I tried removing the font via Regedit and it did 'delete' it... So I tried reinstalling them and there are two Custom Fonts Custom 1 / 2, and 2 shows up but not 1.

Custom 2:

^For this one.. I don't see the symbols, but I do see a font at the least, incorrect, but it isn't blank.

Okay I see the first one, the one in the RAR files symbols are all clear and everything... The second one shows one symbol and like an area that overlays the normal letters and numbers...BUT when I maximize the window, it shows the last '72' line like plain text.. so its like its made to be super-scripted or something .. where it is out of range unless you have enough space or something..

Oh and it flashes the font when I switch focus from like my browser to the Fontviewer in windows..

LOL.. Maybe this an effect? That is weird though first time I have seen something like this... It replicates on my XP SP3 system though.. I would think that you could make it work in a program Like Photoshop or something.. maybe..

I tried to look for a version online but .. nothin'..

EDIT: Okay I opened it (2) in Character Map..( * )and it is showing only one symbol.. the gear. The second one disappeared..so I dunno I may have to restart..

EDIT2: The second one ( which is the first ) LOL.. didn't disappear.. it was Windows Font Explorer program installation issue. You are upposed to be able to install fonts but it doesn't work.. So manually does.. They are all working for me technically.. There just isn't any text..

Bah weird... Cause they are only supposed to be symbols, it's used to typeset a show, so there shouldn't be any letters.

Just not sure why they aren't appearing in my fonts folder... tried dragging to the folder, installing from the file...

EDIT:

---

Font name: TV Nihon Custom Font 1TV Nihon Custom Font 1

TrueType Outlines

---

I noticed when checking my fonts that hte ones that would install correctly had something like that at the top opposed to JUST the font letters/symbols.

The top would have a short description of the font...

If anything I can see the font being 'installed' as it shows up in the registry but don't see it in the fonts folder.

Used "fontonizer" and that shows that it is installed too (This is slightly different from before, as I was able to clear out all the duplicates fo the font)... So not too sure what is causing it to not properly install and show up in the Fonts folder... as it is being installed...
