That is why I asked if my key will still work? There shouldn't be a problem. Last Saturday I finally decided to upgrade to Eset v9. I got problems with the AV scanner so I had to uninstall it and do a fresh install. The program became unregistered but after entering my key everything was fine. It shouldn't matter on what OS you install it on as long as its compatible and your key still has some time left on it.

When you first activate they send you an email to confirm. You can tell from that: Or from the program itself: I have a paid license btw.
TheEmpathicEar
Ah, my key was given to me [not paid btw]. I might expect this would be the case for a lot of folks using this forum. But, it does give "2/16/2017" as an expira. I guess that means that I could activate again.
