AxCrypt is a free, easy to use and open source file encryption tool for Windows 2000/2003/XP/Vista/2008/7 integrated into Windows Explorer. Encrypt, compress, decrypt, wipe, view and edit with a few mouse clicks. Cryptographic primitives are AES-128 and SHA-1. No configuration is necessary for AxCrypt just download it, run the installer and it's ready to go.

Thanks to Astron for the update.

A new version every couple of days. Are they serious?

They should have a good QC team before they release a version as stable.

Tried this new version when it first came out. It was nightmarish! Couldn't open any encrypted file without it first sending info to the web, appeared to be asking for your password to be stored with them online, all kinds of up-selling of paid for upgrades, a total mess. Not only that, but reverting back to old version was problematic. Had to really dig around registry to get rid of new version before you could downgrade and took me a few hours before I could get the old version working again. You'd have to go really far to convince me to upgrade on this again.
