ronkanon
Howdee, Maybe someone can help me with the following problem. I just bought an external 2.5 inch hard drive (Seagate Backup Plus 4tb) with the intension of playing videos on my Samsung tv (USB 3.0) but the hard drive does not appear on the screen. It seems my tv does not recognize the hard drive. The format is NTFS but i can change that to exFAT wich i already tried but no difference. It's nice to have so much backup space but the intension was to watch videos on my tv. I know there are some real technicians amongst you all. So could anyone please help me to solve this (if possible)? Thanks in advance and have a nice day! ronkanon.

Try and report back.

ronkanon
Howdee, Well WALLONN7,i changed it (using Aomei Partition Assistent) to FAT32 but my tv still didn't recognize the hard drive. The problem is solved but i had to change it's volume to 2tb.So now it's a 2tb MBR NTFS drive. So i lost 2tb but the hard drive appears on my tv and can be used. Next time i buy a external hard drive,it won't be bigger than 2tb unless my next tv can handle bigger drives ofcourse. Thanks for your help. You all have a nice day. May be it will recognise it. Then make two or three partitions, each less than 2 tb

mona
I' ve no idea about TV (don't even own one), but in non GPT Windows machines Seagate DiscWizard can help fully utilize HDDs bigger than 2TB. Are you sure it can't help in this case ? Just a suggestion ...
vibranium
The TV is the problem, unless a new firmware solves it.

And, as I stated earlier: Quote More than 2TB USB HDD is not supported
