eurotrash
Hi veryone, I have an ASUS K52F with 3GB of RAM. I want to upgrade to the max 8GB allowed. I was wondering, is this RAM compatible with my laptop? https://www.amazon.it/Crucial-DDR3-1600-DDR3-1600MHz-memoria/dp/B008LTBITY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1464783756&sr=8-3&keywords=Crucial+8GB+DDR3-1600+8GB+DDR3+1600MHz+memoria Thanks in advance, eurotrash
luisam
According the information I found, your ASUS K52F is specified for DDR3 1066 MHz SDRAM with 2 x SO-DIMM socket for expansion up to 8 G SDRAM It's gonna work but if your laptop motherboard only supports 1066 rams, then putting a 1600 mhz ram will run at 1066 mhz. So I guess you might save some money by getting 2 x 4 gb DDR3 1066.
Ghazi
Also go to http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/systemscanner and check compatible RAM for your laptop. Download the scanner. Then search on web buy for a good price

What about this https://www.amazon.it/Crucial-Memory-MacBook-SODIMM-PC3-8500/dp/B008PK37I4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464786128&sr=8-1&keywords=DDR3+4Gb+x+1066+crucial It is 1066 but it says MAC. Will it run on a PC as well?
WALLONN7
Nope... And I would never suggest to buy it...
luisam
I've never worked with MAC but up to my knowledge I don't see why it wouldn't work. IF the speed, 1066 and the type of RAM (DDR3) is the same on both computers, it should work. But, I would expect the opinion of someone with real experience with both PC and MAC

I don't see it in the tech specs...
vibranium
As long as you have two identical RAM modules in the two slots, you are 99.99% running dual channel. You can confirm using CPU-Z. Not all RAM of higher speeds 1333/1600 will downclock successfully to 1066, since you can never guarantee that the RAM's SPD (self-declared properties programmed on the module) is done properly. If you want to be 100% sure, get http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/k52f/CT5297771 or buy the RAM with the same part number elsewhere.

gipsy
all below is just personal opinion. @eurotrash do not waste your money for extra RAM man,u hv too weak lappy for a games or video decoding (other case u won't need 8 Gb).imo keep default RAM but replace HDD to SSD .result will be obvious after. I think I will take ur advice and get an SSD instead. Seems easier to find, lol. And not so much more expensive than the RAM. Thanks for the idea, and thanks to everyone for replying.
