Maxxx0508
Hi everyone,I'm having a lab about security at school. My teacher gave me a Google account with added recovery mail and recovery phone number. He request me permanent get the control of this Google account, he provide me this account's password. And lab requirement is using another IP (using VPN). I also tried change this account password, recovery phone number, recovery mail but not success. When I change them, Google will send a message to previous phone number because there is an unexpected activity on this account, and my teacher use the phone number to set password again, so this account returned to him. Is there anyway to permanent get this account with change new password, recovery phone and recovery email but the mail's owner cannot change password again?Thank you for any comment! Have a nice day! I tried change these options but not success
LOQUILLO
Impossible, this account is owned with a domain and the admin have control absolute, in your case the teacher is the admin and him can give you admin rights for this account.

LOQUILLO
If it is gmail.com, then VPN or any restriction or security options into your LAN connection dont affect the configuration of any gmail account. Gmail have verifications in 2 steps, maybe first need verify cell phone or home phone or email account used for recovery accounts When this two recovery options was verified then you are able for change password and to be an admin in your own account. Gmail send code to cell phone or email for validate the owner. I use cell phone, home phone and other email account for recovery purposes, it's more secure. Maxxx0508
I remove my teacher recovery phone, and add my phone, verified it, too. But he can use old phone number to reset the password. I don't know why. Do I need turn 2 step verification on when I add my phone, so when he sign in, he need 6-digit code of my phone message to log in this account? Maxxx0508
That means no way to get permanent control of this account? You said before remove, gmail sends code to mail or previous phone number? If gmail sends code to mail, I can use mail, so I can validate and change phone to my phone?

LOQUILLO
If you will read the emails in public's or cyber's computers, the best is choose the 2-step verification, but if you will use at your home maybe it isn't necessary. But if you are a paranoic with security then 2-step verification is the best choice.
debebee
2-step verification is sometimes a bother.. you have to have your phone with you everytime you log on if you lose your phone... well.. that will be a bigger problem suggest browser in incognito mode when looking at your mail in public wifis
