WAMVN
Very good but it installs with packs only. Need to down a whole pack just for 1 update. I prefer 1 click driver updater so yeah
Jordan
i didn't posted this for discussion about it's utility or efficiency just to inform nsaners about it and give them the oppurtunity to directly interact with the dev. There is no harm to post such comments though. Your experience with this program may help or interest other members.

It happened to me and I have daily image backups so no loss, but without that I would have lost everything.

SDI creates a restore point before installing drivers, so it's possible to recover the system in case something goes wrong.
freeforever03
I gave SDI a try. It found several drivers that were out of date. Interestingly, I also have Driver Booster installed and it did not find these drivers. However, I let SDI do the update and everything went well. uffbros
I also would like to know each update say you only have 2 or 3 updates...why do you have to download a 6-10GB file each time? Can't you make it search what I have already and only update anything newer????? WAMVN asked but no answer. Thanks

You can run SDI without driverpacks and choose to download indexes only. If latest driverpacks have new drivers for your computer, SDI will show them and suggest downloading the driverpacks. uffbros
I thought indexes was only for say my machine only? I do many reinstalls of friends/family?? So your saying since mine is currently up to date...next time there are updates I select indexes only and it only offers anything that is new???? Does it then delete the older ones? Thanks for clarifying this for me.
BadPointer
Indexes are offline driver database. This is why downloading them allows SDI to search for drivers even when driverpacks aren't downloaded yet. SDI manages indexes automatically, so you don't have to worry about it. In order to avoid downloading driverpacks you don't need, I suggest making sure that you keep indexes up to date. If you're using SDI to install drivers on many PCs, you might up downloading many driverpacks anyway.
