PistalPete
Today I find this on my computer. Microsoft has taken a more aggressive approach to force upgrades.
steven36
in order to have this popup you must have get windows 10 updates (GWX) installed it just telling you're pc is ready to be updated If you didn't want windows 10 you should removed those updates and hide them or use GWX Control Panel to remove it. straycat19
The Senior Center was getting calls about this yesterday and people who didn't want the upgrade but didn't understand how to stop it, so looks like my friends and I are going to be spending a lot of time working with them on rolling them back (when you volunteer to help an organization it is difficult to walk away). On the other hand the program we have had for them the last month to replace Windows with Ubuntu and setup software for email, etc has gone very well and a lot of seniors have chosen to get away from Microsoft since their only reason for having it was it came on their computer. The center has a short one hour class on using Linux that they require people to take before adding their name to the list for the change so they know what they are getting and it has gone very well. The local school district disposed of their windows machines and went with iPads for the students and reduced their total IT staff to 2 full time people and using students in the various schools for on-site support. That has worked very well and saved them over a million dollars this year alone.

The way GWX works is it uses telemetry from windows 10 and if a lot of pcs of you're model have updated they trun it on and install windows 10 . Holmes
I cant record songs from movies in ubuntu unless linux has somethingg like what you hear protocol which they screwed up in windows seven (I hate that about windows seven). I do audio recording and video editing if I can do that in linux I am going to consider using linux. I can record audio in windows seven i have to use a virtual sound card its annoying.
