Psycho-gHo
Most DEFINITELY the answer to heatsink or not is a resounding !!! YES !!! and the use of a thermal compound is also a !!! YES !!!. Can you use a STOCK s.775 heatsink (your Intel) with a s.1151 motherboard.... !!! NO !!! as the holes do not line up. Aftermarket coolers usually are for most sockets. Why not use the heatsink that came with your s.1151 CPU?
Administrator DKT27 Posted April 15, 2016 Administrator Share Posted April 15, 2016 Your CPU box comes with a heatsink plus fan and thermal paste already applied on the heatsink. You do not need an aftermarket cooler for non-gaming, non-overclocking purposes. The default cooler will do fine in it.
