Is a 1,500-year-old Mongolian mummy 'wearing Adidas boots' proof that time travel exists

The grave was located 9,200 feet (2,803 meters) above sea level. This fact and the cool temperatures helped to preserve the grave, which sat 10ft deep (three metres). The location of the mountains is marked

 

Earlier this week, archaeologists in Mongolia released the first photos of an ancient woman found preserved in the Altai Mountains.  

But one picture in particular is causing a stir online after it appears the 1,500-year-old mummy is wearing what appears to be Adidas boots.

Commenters on Twitter and Facebook are claiming the woman must be a time traveller, albeit many in a jokey and tongue-in-cheek way.

Earlier this week, archaeologists in Mongolia released the first photos of an ancient woman found preserved in the Altai Mountains. But one picture in particular (above) is causing a stir online after it appears the 1,500-year-old mummy is wearing what appears to be Adidas boots (snowboarding boots pictured below)


One Twitter user jokingly quipped: 'Must be a time traveler. I knew we would dig one up sooner or later', another added: 'Huh? Time-travelling Mummy? Corpse interfered with?.' Meanwhile, Facebook users said: 'Loooooool he's wearing a pair of gazelles', and 'Well I must admit, I've got a few pair but I ain't had them that long' 

 

The woman was studied by experts from Khovd Museum.

It appears to be the first complete Turkic burial in Central Asia and the remains were found at an altitude of 9,200ft (2,803 metres).

Earlier this week, researcher B.Sukhbaatar, from the Museum, said: 'This person was not from the elite, and we believe it was likely a woman, because there is no bow in the tomb.

I'm quite sceptical about these kind of mysteries and for a start I believe this is just a well ellaborated hoax.  Evidently they are NOT Addidas shoes, but a pirate brand!

Grave robbers - how would you like to die and have somebody remove you from your grave and then have a team of scientists poking & working on your body some years later.   I do wonder though, did her Timex watch keep on ticking.
