Yesterday I wanted to make partitions for my new SD card, so I followed the XDA recommandation  using MiniTool Partition Wizard so I made about 3GB for linux Swap, about 9 GB for ext2 and the rest for FAT32, everything were going fine till the end, the process gave me some kind of errors so I had to click OK to continue till end, finally the Minitool software showed my SD card as "BAD DISK" just like in the screenshot below with no option to repair or do anything, Tried formatting it using Windows but always give me the error: Windows unable to format the disk

I did some research using Google looking how to repair it using Diskpart (I already had an idea about it) cause I forgot a lot about how to do it, found a nice tutorial, the tutorial is already very good but I faced some issues that might help you in addition to the tutorial, so..

1- I'll explain for Windows 7, you can check for other Windows in the PDF

the latest screenshot show all commands needed to repair the USB drive or SD card but I faced an issue when the clean command give me error..., was stuck here for a while

so to solve it once it give error..., Eject the SD Adapter (Or USB drive) and insert it again and Quickly type the commands

list disk

select disk 1 (in this case)

clean

the second issue when not being able to format it gave an error.., just go to the next step and type active then format window will prompt to format it, do it and then continue typing the other commands

When all command are finished your USB drive or SD card is now repaired and working as it should :)

Minitool Partition Wizard Professional is a great piece of software for anything related to disks, thumb drives etc. Diskpart is totally useless when Windows itself can't recognize your device. like when you plug in your USB thumb drive and nothing is shown in "This PC" nor in "Disk Management", in that case Diskpart can't recognize it too. in many cases this happened Minitool Partition Wizard could recognize it and allowed to even delete and repartition a 8GB thumb drive and reregister it on Windows.
