Administrator DKT27 Posted April 5, 2016 Administrator Share Posted April 5, 2016 Hello guys. I recently tried to install latest version of ESET, but got this error: After hours of trial, I finally managed to install it. Apparently, the ESET installer itself did not have permission to run the installation file it created in the Appdata folder. So how I fixed it. I ran ESET 8 installer found here. In return, it asked me if I wanted to download the latest version, I agreed. What it downloaded in return, was an legacy type .msi like installer for the latest ESET. When I ran that installer, I got the same error, but as it was a legacy installer, it gave me exact details of the error. The error was same as before, but it now mentioned a specific path for the file, it was as follows: Quote AppData\Local\Temp In that folder, there was a file called eav8351.msi. I ran it, it started another same installer with same error. So what to do. I took ownership of that installer. Then, while the installer was still running, I pressed retry. It worked. ESET installed with this. I posted this just incase anyone is having this particular problem with installing ESET and so.
