aaaa
Hello everyone, In the past I was a user of Hiren's BootCD. Today I'm using Gandalf’s Windows 10PE x64, but I'm looking for a better approach. What you guys would recommend for our PE boot needs?
neofita
better approach is building WindowsToGo on a usb stick IMHO staying on PE approach, SergeiStrelec PE is a good choice, also Gandalf PE is good indeed recommended testing CoolZoid PE Maintenance Disk
straycat19
WindowsToGo using the Enterprise LTSB version is the best way to go but you have to add your own utilities and by default WindowsToGo does not see the internal drives, you have to mount them. Also a true WindowsToGo stick is special and expensive, such as the Kingston Workstation DataTraveler 64GB for around $135. You can create a standard usb stick version using programs like wintobootic and wintousb but you need a very fast stick. Again you have to add your own programs. If you have a fast usb 3.0 stick you could put Easy2Boot on it and put the Gandalf and SergeiStrelec ISOs on it, along with others, and boot from either. You could add other ISOs and expand the use of the stick to doing other things also. It really depends on how much work you want to do, how much you want to invest in it, and the primary usage of the device. You can also build your own PE using the PE Builder from http://win10se.cwcodes.net/Compressed/ http://theoven.org/index.php?board=36.0 The latest version is Win10PE_SE_2016-02-05. You can also get PE builders for Windows 7 and 8.1 if you are interested. http://w7pese.cwcodes.net/ http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=131.0 http://win81se.cwcodes.net/ http://theoven.org/index.php?topic=774.
aaaa
I've almost forgot of Strelec, used it years ago. I'll try it again as it seems to have a better set of applications. Have another recommendation for a good Windows PE loaded with useful tools? Please share your thoughts here!
