[solved] Annoying SECURITY CHECK page, to spring up out of nowhere

I would like to ask you - about the alleged "SECURITY CHECK", that uses  to spring up out of nowhere from time to time, when attempting to open a link in a new tab

What's interesting the address in the address bar remains unchanged and points to the right destination.  (in different way to how  www.anonymz.com  is used on nSane ---> spoiler below)

1. /  Could someone enlighten me please, where this "SECURITY CHECK" comes from and is it legitimate ?

 

Another problem with it is the type of visual capcha used on that particular "Security Check" page.  It is almost impossible to go through it.

2. /  My attempts have been rejected in 95% of cases.   Am I the only one to experience the issue ?

 

And the last question :

3./   Is there any workaround to avoid this annoying, crappy  SECURITY CHECK page ?

It usually happens when you use well known proxies or TOR network to access some websites but it's not the only reason it appears there for you, those websites are probably using third-party services like Cloudflare to block malicious behaviors such as DOS..

The problem is - it shows randomly on different, I guess - user specific -  pages.

For example - yesterday that Security Check was blocking access to this site :   http://robert.penz.name/1252/stop-panicking-about-the-locky-ransomware/  on my comp.

Three attempts to do the  capcha   (I'm 100% sure they were correct) - got rejected.  So I finally gave up.

 

But today I could oppen the same  page without any blockade.

Did anybody of you have seen This crap in your system / browser ?

Thanks for the info.

My case is different though, since I don't use any proxies or TOR network. Even that it happens Security check pops up apx. 1-2 times a week.

Ya... But not working this way...

Try another browser for a couple of days... and report back.

How about saeed_dc comment above?!...

Well in that case try temporary changing  DNS servers to 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4, run 

ipconfig/flushdns

then 

netsh int ip reset

commands in command prompt with admin access, restart after that and use Ccleaner to delete all the saved cookies in your computer. then please let me know if you're getting the checks again..

I normally use PaleMoon. But when I couldn't access the certain site in it, I tried the same in CyberFox and FF. But without success.  That's why I suspect the Security Check is rather IP, not  particular browser related.

Should I flush dns right now or wait until I get my favorite SCh again ?   ;)

In this case, or you get bored and renew your ip every time this happens, or contact the sites' administrators when you have problems, or even your ISP, reporting the problem. Try this too.
Maybe your network is infected?! I do not mean personal network... only...

You're welcome

Yeah do them right now and after that once again go to all the websites you'd get security checks from and see if the checks still show up..

just make sure you're doing them all in order ^_^

 

DNS change => run command 1 (as admin) =>  run command 2 (as admin) => restart => clear cookies by ccleaner

Yeah, I checked another browsers, but didn't tried changing IP.  So @saeed_dc's and your suggestions are definitely the way to go. Thanks both of you again.

As I liked his post, ya, my capchas are accepted every single time... Unless my astigmatism take possession of my decisions... and it does sometimes... :blush2:

but I didn't get those captcha checks even though i tried my best to look as malicious as possible :unsure:

Usually they appear in protected links in my case...

I can flush my dns now, but am not able to check the sites where I encountered SCh before (except the last one) since I simply don't collect their addresses.

I can only wait for the next time I see SCh again.

2nd one resets everything iptables etc, what about browsing history?

Are you talking specifically about this particular SCh capcha or generally about alll capchas ?

I'm experiencing problems exclusively with  SCh capcha. That's why it's so annoying.  :P

Maybe you have malware on your PC or laptop and this malware burden on your connection and the gun with him Oddities 

 

download HijackThis
http://sourceforge.net/projects/hjt/files/latest/download
1.on system disk you create a folder Hijackthis, put the downloaded file in this folder
2.Run HijackThis program window and click on Do a system scan and save a logfile and wait ...
3. After a while it pops up Notepad dump HJT. This extract copy and post here or send me via private massage

I speak of captchas in general, including those reported by you. To be honest, I just realize that I have dealt only with this particular type... I just can not say since when... :unsure:

Is old good HijackThis still alive ?   I have heard some years ago it's not much effective with modern / current (sophisticated) malware .  ;)
