I tested that portable  i have the ips blocked  in my firewall Malwarebytes Anti-Malware FWB from @sledge101's tool box. witch blocks the ips over all , It worked fine  to scan and was activated  but when i removed  a false  positive  with it and rebooted  and re-launched  it had to restore  its portable settings  and it turned  into the free version.

Ran the same test with  my installed version

And it remains activated

Seems this why from what i read at fuken's  site  why he said he would not touch this app again without a fully  working keygen .

I tested on that one from portableappz  , i  could run more test onit  were i block it through the exe instead with W10FC also  i could test with host block. If it were too fail on all 3 test would mean restoring its portable settings is deactivating it.  Im not sure of it being a fw problem yet  because its fine with the installed version ..id have to run 2 more test on the portable . It could be were it needs to restore settings after cleaning something. ether  its the FW block in the toolbox  getting around because it uses native WF  or ether its the portable  there's something wrong somewhere im going run some more test and see.

but i am not 100% as not tested 100% yet like u i like to test more then one time to make sure

This soft is no need to reg, if you must just run manual scan from time to time. if you are doin things right it wont find anything worth removing anyways.

It could be because Native Windows Firewall may not work right  for portable because of this default setting

You dont want mess with that setting unless you're  and advanced user  that knows what it does that's why i tell people they be better off to use WFC  to piggyback Native Windows Firewall   or W10FC plus witch works for most anything if know how to set it up.  But id have to test and see.

i do not use windows firewall i like u use W10FCplus   and i think u can just block exe  or host or ip block and it stop the problems with restoring its portable settings is deactivating it.

1. It fails  with hostblock  too

hosts (C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts):
0.0.0.0 serius.mwbsys.com
0.0.0.0 keystone.mwbsys.com

2. its no better  than free version because realtime dont work

ovS1n9q.png

3. when you  clean  a file and it makes you reboot it stops working with host block.

CyEgNcQ.png

4. You have too reboot a 2nd time too get it to  work and loses activation .

8uqdqov.png

5. This is the reason I install it.

That's not going to help because these errors have always been in the portable versions years ago  they was, its not internet related  .. What im showing you i told people about in like 2009 before  but they keep using these broke portables.  When i cleaned a file the 2nd time i tested it also messed  up my  installed version  and I had to reinstall , all my settings were gone like i never installed it before, I had to reactivate it. update and exclude  etc.. So much trouble  and no body wants to accept   the truth . This is one reason I will never post warez again because people now days are too hard headed to listen . :)   Just like when i told people host blocks  did not work in  idm no more and  at 1st they didn't want to listen, but after awhile they did , but i want help them activate it no more lol

No I like portables but there's some things  that want right as portables  right  and MAM  is one  of them and i'm not about to use a broke program  for the sake of not installing it. :)

Test with you're internet off and see do it work it will trough out errors .

When the program didn't  have internet check,  portables  still had bad errors and besides  the realtime dont work it want turn on because of missing drivers that have to be installed. Only its good too scan but not remove malware. If you use it to scan only its OK but if you ever find malware you would need to install it  to remove it right .

This shows most people use other solutions installed  and/or there scans always come up clean and they never really tested these portables . Ive never found any real malware on my pc with this program and i used it since it came out.. If i put  it on some noobs pc i do.. :P

this one worked without  errors  I got it registered with FFF keygen  then cleaned a file  with and rebooted and stays registered but still the realtime dont really work .  But its 100 times better than the one by PortableAppz :P

Thats the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard in the 18 years I been doing this computer stuff.

Perhaps you should go out more

You are a fool if you think you don't need protection. There are so many different types of malware out there, it's a bit ridiculous.

Adware, spyware, virus, worm, trojan, rootkit, backdoors, keyloggers, rogue software, ransomware, hijacks, grayware, etc.

I am a security expert and certified hacker for 15 years now. You don't need protection if you know what you are doing. You can add this software and an antivirus and much more for clients or for people that need confidence when starting their computer up. Thats about it.

That is still a foolish statement and 90% of people do NOT know what they are doing, even if they think they do.

Using the internet is like having sex. If you don't use protection, sooner or later you will get an infection.

I know what I am doing but I still insist on using real-time protection because malware is dynamic: there are too many different types of infections, too many different ways to get infected, and I don't like taking chances.

If you want to keep living on the edge, go for it. But don't recommend users to go without protection.

You may be an IT pro and get away without real-time protection, but it is unwise to recommend the average user to do the same.

Correct. i dont use any AV about 10 years never got infected  since i know what i am doing. lately i add only MB since its latest version is so light and doersnt impact pc performance  even in games when i leave it turned on. also it doesn't popup for every crack files or keygen unlike AV who does

Well one alternative if you dont want to host block or if u used the previous toolbox ( net.conf already included there)

Before upgrading to latest version 2.1 link,  go to programdata\malwarebytes\configuration.

check if you have a net.conf patch , if you don't have,  download from attached file below. if you do , rename to net.bak

Now, upgrade the program the usual by runnig the setup 2.1.  after install, it will be asked to restart.  Do not restart nor open the program yet, now rename the net.bak ( patch) to net.conf .  The patch one is 6kb and the new one is 8kb ( you may rename this to bak or whatever name u like). after that open the program then do an upgrade UPDATE, check settings and do a restart after all setup. Done.

net.rar

mbam2_1.jpg

Ran it already three times with update, scan, so far so good. Stays activated, cleans found junk. Cheers B)
