i don't use this program on a daily basis, so i picked the portable editions. (i always do)

The one posted by PocketAppZ turns to free after the second run

the one posted by november_ra1n worked fine for me.

(Windows 8.1 x64 fresh install)

Well one alternative if you dont want to host block or if u used the previous toolbox

I used the firewall fix on the toolbox i dont get no false positive . I have two firewalls Windows 10 Firewall Control plus (64-bit) and normal Windows 8.1 Firewall  seems just adding the ips to the normal one is working for me so far .If it messes up ill add the ips to Windows 10 Firewall Control plus (64-bit) too . Some times developers can get around normal  windows Firewall because outbound  is allowed  by default  but its working so far with no problems.

Here's an idea: buy a license

MBAM is an excellent piece of software. If you agree, then why not purchase it?

The best way to support the development of a program is to support the developers who make it.

My comment was directed at the people who keep asking for a working fix.

My only source of income is a disability check I get once per month and believe me, it is not enough to live off of.

I haven't purchased a license because I can't afford to, either. But you don't see me getting upset about it or anything.

The fix works fine for me,  i was posting releases of MAM pro back when no one even used it much and i always  used the free version other than just  to test it to make sure it worked for my downloaders. I'm testing  it again since yesterday  seems pretty light with Nod32  as well . But  i would just use free before i would buy it . :)

I  was going to buy windows 10,  if it was not free and I'm  glad I didn't have too because I dont find it useful after testing it. I find it funny when some that pirate Windows O/S and post warez try to tell us to buy software . A pirate with a conscience? Give me a break  if you have money to buy software  you should not pirate .

I used to use malwarebytes 6 years ago. I don't use any antivirus or spyware/adware program anymore. If you have firefox/chrome installed and a adblocker. Not so much can go wrong (if you have common sense when opening installers)

You are a fool if you think you don't need protection. There are so many different types of malware out there, it's a bit ridiculous.

Adware, spyware, virus, worm, trojan, rootkit, backdoors, keyloggers, rogue software, ransomware, hijacks, grayware, etc.

Its OK just to use as a scanner to make sure you dont have malware ..but even Funken will tell you this app want fully work as portable  it never has .  There's some apps that dont  and for these kind of apps i install them. I love portables on windows but when they dont function right because there portables it defeats  the point of having them.

You try to remove something with it that needs reboot  when i tested them before they would always throw out errors . Even the developers of this program said they would never make a portable . I dont really trust  portables for security software unless the  developer  makes it portable like HitmanPro is. :)

One thing to consider is Mbam uses driver technology. In a portable environment, this probably will not work properly for complete removal. Plus what would happen with quaritine and logs getting mixed from multiple systems.

It has to be able to read the registry of and o/s to remove malware  a portable version off MAM is about like using a free version of hitman its mostly only good as  scanner not a malware remover  and even the free version of MAM  removes  malware installed meaning most likely if you were infected you would have to install it to remove it.

"It (Malwarebytes) is not designed to check an external drive in that sense unless there is active Malware on it and it points back to it in the running Registry of the current Operating System. If you're looking for a scanner to detect dormant Malware or Virus then you should be looking at an Anti-Virus product which is what they're designed for.

We will always scan most sections of the current operating system since that is how and where active Malware resides. There are some options you can review and turn off if you don't want them scanned, but again, scanning an external drive for Malware is better left to a full Anti-Virus product."

Even my friend who made portables for many years tells me about  not everything  works right as portable period and not always everything  work right with paf ether  , sometimes you need to use spoon or thinapp.

Its just like those portables that require printer drivers  for pdf  they never work right portablelized  ether.  No app that has drivers do .

that dont have nothing to do with  it throwing out errors on reboot if you ever have to remove malware . The way to test it too see if fully works is find a false positive that ask you to reboot and see if errors pop up after reboot.
