You can not using auto - update to update new version. You must download the latest version above and override installed old version then reboot your computer.

Installed version is 9.0.375

We have a fix for Eset v9 but it is only fully working on x86 systems.

 

Run this bat (code by @xanax) in safe mode.

I tested on win7 x86 and win10 x86 and it worked fine.

Can you give more info? Do you use a non english version of Eset?

If it shows 2019, it is activated.

About the update problem, i have only seen that problem on x64.

Here is my result with: Windows 7 32 bit + ESET Smart Security 9.0.375.0 (english)

Installed Eset - Enter safe mode - Run the bat - reboot - Update Eset = worked perfect (updated without any problem, Update 13132)

I have done some testing but i did not have any luck on x64. (it get activated but can not update to latest virus signature)

ESET continues to have a weak licensing system for trial versions even though in latest version 9 there were some changes. Again by exporting all keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ESET before activating trial and then import them again after you've activated trial license you can trick ESET to think it has not been activated and request another license.

You need to disable self-defense in order to stop ESET's protection service which prevents registry modifications (you can re-enable it later)
Also terminate egui.exe process from taskmanager

Stopped using program on 14279. Startmenu stopped working. Settings stopped launching, and was difficult to open network sharing center.

CDBurnerXP , the latest version, was getting blocked by ESS.

 

I have Web Access Protection>URL Address Management>

Address List of allowed addresses == "*.nsaneforums.*" and "*.nsandedown.*" and also

List of addresses excluded from checking == "*.nsaneforums.*" and "*.nsandedown.*"

 

So, why is ESS still blocking the above URL?? For that matter, Windows 10 prompts to prevent the installer from running??

 

EDIT: I removed the ","s from the above - the periods, that is. But, I am still getting a bunch of notifications from ESS when browsing the site.
