It is necessary to remove and reinstall your Office 2016 retail. It is first necessary to be done in your case .

Thank you for taking time to reply Why Microsoft implements upgrading office products if it is necessary to remove older versions prior to installing newer versions? Just a question to save all users from future problems arising from upgrading Microsoft products. I might follow your advise some time later this week because I have a lot of work with office applications. Mean while trying to find another working solution. You are wrong... You can not upgrade the version of the 2013 to 2016 version. Required to remove and install the new version and the only way. Regards During installation of office 2016 .. the wizard didn't ask me to remove or leave office 2013 and every thing went smoothly and after that I found office 2013 still there .. I uninstall it from program and features and did a repair for office 2016 and it is working fine

Kaos
My procedure after many years of wondering why i still get updates for previous office installs is. Run Ccleaner and uninstall Office 2013. Delete the office program folder (Office 15 i think) Run Ccleaner Registry cleaner. reset PC. Have done this on several PC with no probs but i only use word excel and outlook from the full install. Its best to eventually do a clean install of w10 and office to get the best outcome.
