fazzel
Does anyone know some piece of software that enables all windows on your desktop to snap to each other or the desktop edge?I found this, http://www.ntwind.com/software/windowspace.html, but unfortunately, it costs. I've searched this forum for this and nothing was found :ph34r:A big thumb up would be if the software was free :)

HX1
Yes i know that stuff like compiz fusion is totally amazing :DBut now I'm using Win XP and I'm not considering to change just because of window snapping :PWell to be honest there are several softwares you could search for.. as far as Compiz is concerned .. We have that...I am going to list these so that you can look for them, and at their aspects yourself as I may or may not understand exactly what you are looking for, nor to accomplish a certain goal.. because of the many variables in the manner in which a system can be used..EDIT: I found this snooping around the net today.. WinSplit Revolution - The only thing it seems to be missing is the window snapping..but seems to cover the rest..Just a few others..off the top of my head..( I recommend using Metacrawler.com for the search engine, if you search for them. I usually get the desired result in the top 3.. versus looking through pages of results for the main site )SphereXP - I have never actually seen this thing work.. in use.. and have never owned the hardware to make it run but it uses a sphere to manage windows and applications...been around for a while now..( free )Yodm3D - an old application but if you can find a copy..( oops wait found it )( free )DeskSpace - made by Otaku Software.. Six sides spinning cube for desktop management, icon management, and window placement. as well as per program/desktop startup management. Love it..Cube Desktop - Very similar to DeskSpace with some differing options from DeskSpace.. However DeskSpace I would recommend...Offers Carousel view of desktops, tile view..Desk Hedron - Did not get to explore application due its system limitations, but also offers the cube effect. has a nice little site with several free programs that are very interesting.. ( free )WinFlip - Yes another Flip3D Proggie ( free )WinExpose - written by Matias Moreno ( free )Visual Task Tips - Actively developed, with customizable, configurable popups from the taskbar that show captured images of the various open windows...can be configured to show very large views if needed. ( free )Top Desk - Offers Flip 3D.. window tiling/snapping360 Desktop - Doesn't snap to the edges but free and very interesting program.. ( free )BumpTop - similar to RealDesktop. Interesting idea for desktop management.. ( free for personal use..limited )Defocus - Interestng little free program which allows hot-key control and mouse-over transparency.. Offers several very nice features on the fly.. ( free )Madotate 02.02.02 - This was 'Ol' skoolz' ( used to not be )... but offers quite amazing effects for window management. You might have a little trouble finding you way to the link the site is in another language. ( frEEEEE )Task Switch XP - a customizable Alt + Tab alternative on steroids.. by the same people who made the program you were looking at..( not to over exaggerate .. also free) PowerToys XP - Deskman, TweakUI, offers a few simple yet efficient system tweaks to enable more control over windows. Deskman = the original multi-desktop manager. ( free )Zoom It! - Available through Microsoft as part of Sysinternals Suite, which helps when trying to view on larger resolution screens.. with many windows..Ctrl + 1 will activate the zoom function which will allow you to then write and draw on the zoomed area.. navigatable by mouse to any part of the screen.. ( free )Present This Window - Another zoom feature which will allow a user to select a window and use a hotket to 'bring down the lights, and zoom fullscreen to the window selected ( free )ZenKey - Part of a suite of two other utilities. Offers many option for controlling your program windows.. ( free )DM2 - Available at Sourceforge.net.. offers many options including minimizing windows to icons and rollups..( free )I have quite a few more programs.. but like some of these I own them, but they aren't currently installed or being used ATM..You can also enhance the use of any of these programs with a 'free for personal use' software called StrokeIt.. It adds the ability to use mouse and pen/tablet gestures to activate various shortcut keys.I ran across the program you were looking at and couldn't find anything EXACTLY like it awhile back...Being that I have all of this other stuff at my disposal...and trust me I did look everywhere..LOLAnyway hope that opens up some options..EDIT: One small thing I forgot to mention if you are arranging your windows to be able to compare files, I would suggest a free program called WinMerge its available at Sourceforge.net...and there is also UltraCompare as well...EDIT3: Added Linkage to the everything..LOL

HX1
I found this and it's totally awesome! :rolleyes:http://www.ivanheckman.com/allsnap/Cool.. yeah I just found this.. if you look at the description page about the software...It show like a ton of hotkey assignment..anyway..FreeSnap by Blue Onion Software.Odd.. since I first replied.. it has sent me on a trip to reorganize my accessibility programs.. update some of them and through that I have been adding some stuff...If I installed it all, my windows could probably dance to HappyHardcore..LOL.. I think I have to watch though.. I have a problem collecting cool stuff.. then I have to come back install use and delete..I wind up with redundancy, or a collection of several programs.. that either each do the same thing differently.. or have about one or two feature difference..not to mention the obscure programs I find out there that don't even have a main software company folder to go into, just an author name.. I guess I should tie it off..LOL.EDIT: I wonder what people would think about a thread for Desktop, TaskBar/Tray, Program Mod, and System Toys? I haven't seen anything like that around here... Just major programs and things....Like a thread with a screenshot for each one...a link and a short description for each entry?..
