wav cue file splitting

Does any member recommend a possible splitting software to split wav cue file to individual wav song files as I have tried some and

still in vain. With Medieval Cue Splitter, it works perfectly with Ape and Flac but not with wav and mp3 at all.

Thanks for your kind assistance on the matter.

Audacity should help you with that. But unlike Medieval Cue Splitter you will have to do the work yourself by importing your audio file and than "labeling" the start of each track.

It has an online manual to help you thru the procedure. It might be tedious work if you have many such files tho.

What's nice about Audacity is that you are given the choice to export your files in different sample rates and bit depth among other things.

It's freeware btw.

That is not to export files to different rates and bit depth but just to separate the big song file to smaller song files as being merged into one large song file. You don't have to do with the songs but just to split the file and that's all.

you could use EAC (exact audio copy) but i don't think it can do things midieval cue splitter cant do.

have you opened the cue file and gave a look for what file it was made for??? somethime you have a flac file but the cue was made for a wav file and you have to encode it to wav for it to work (or change the format in that cue file...)

It will separate "the big song file" into smaller ones! But you have to separate them yourself! I've used it myself to separate a wav file into individual tracks.

Exporting them to different rates is just an added bonus

Okay. Let's give this a try:

1- Click on the Files tab

2- Click on open

3- From the next window choose your audio file to work with.I've chosen Beethoven's fifth for the example

4- Click on open and this window will open. Click on OK

5- Congratulations you have now imported your audio file

6- Now press Ctrl+1 several times to zoom in on your audio file. Its important to do that to easily see where the flat lines are. Flat lines, like the one in the beginning, will indicate where the next tracks will begin.

7- Next you will drag the cursor forward until you reach the next flat line. Left Click just before the flat line line ends and you'll get a vertical bar. At this point you can click on the green triangle to play the audio file to make sure your

vertical bar is just before the start of the next track.

8- Now that you have your vertical bar, you will click on the tracks tab and choose Add label at selection.

The label will look like this

9-Repeat steps 7-8 until all your tracks have been labeled.

10- Now click on the files tab and choose Export multiple.

The next window will let you choose what format you wish to export your tracks to.Don't forget to tick the Include audio before first label!

At the bottom left you can choose the bit rate. But you must do it before clicking on Export multiple.

All you have to do now is click on Export and you're good to go!

It seems quite a hard one for the beginner to work with. It takes time to accustom it. Thanks for the detailed illustrative demonstration.

try with foobar loading the cue or bin as playlist then select all and right click then choose convert to... suggest leave all defaults and choose destination
