Hello Guys,

i need some help about my new computer build.

CPU: Intel I7-6700K

Motherboard: ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING

RAM: HyperX FURY HX421C14FBK2/16 - 16Go Kit (2x 8Go) 2133MHz DDR4 Non-ECC CL14 DIMM

SSD: Samsung EVO 850 MZ-75E250B/EU 250 GB

with 80 PLUS 550W power supply.

and for the OS: WINDOWS 10 FRENCH HOME X20-25432.

I've done several fresh install of windows but each time i try to install my CPU driver my screen start blinking and the i get one of these 2 BSOD:

VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE igdkmd64.sys

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXEPTION_NOT_HANDELED igdkmd64.sys

I've tried the windows version i bought and 2 newer build 10586 and 11082, but always the same behavior.

Tried installing in UEFI ON and OFF but still the same problem.

Tested the driver on my mobo cd, the latest driver in the mobo manufacturer webbsite, the latest driver from intel and even letting windows installing it through windows update!! => same behavior.

Intalled Federo no problem.

Can you please help? i've read several post on the net about similar behaviors but i didn't see any solution.

Let us try to Roll Back the driver and check if that helps:

a. Press Windows key + R, type devmgmt.msc in the run prompt.

b. Expand the Display adapters section, right-click the display adapter

c. Click the Driver tab, and then click Roll Back Driver.

d. Restart the computer and check.

If that does not help, let us reinstall the video card driver.

a. Press Windows key + R, type devmgmt.msc in the run prompt.

b. Expand the Display adapters section, right-click the display adapter

c. Click the Driver tab, and then click Uninstall driver.

d. Restart the PC and Windows would load the generic video card driver.

intel driver as detailed in this video.

Spoiler

This isn't going to help you any but you aren't alone.  This is happening on Windows 10 on every brand of computers you can name including Microsoft Surface Pro. One solution posted was here

http://www.vmwareandme.com/2015/07/solved-windows-10-bsod-with-Video-TDR-Failure-igdkmd64.sys.html

Others have found that the driver from their motherboard/computer manufacturer works but Windows 10 updates it and then it fails.

Hello everyone,

i've tried all the solutions you have recommended but nothing?

could it be some motherboard settings?

could it be that a problem with the motherboard?

it's windows updates installing dodgy drivers, your best off disabling auto driver updates using that shutup10 tool then do as others have said, roll back and install either motherboard manufacturer provided driver or go to intel directly as someone has already gave you links for

Thanks AP1972, will do the cjeck with Intel diagnostic tool.

but for the drivers i've tested all of them!!! from windows update, manufacturer cd, manufacturer website and 2 version from intel website. nothing is working.

i was able to somehow to install the driver in safe mode and then restart en normal mode with an error 'graphic driver stopped working and has recovered'.

i found that it could be related to some delay settings. so i've  tried that but not working.

i even tried another monitor!!!!

really need you help guys.
