straycat19
I could talk for 50 minutes about launching a nuclear missile at Russia and how vulnerable the old launching systems are, but it's just talk without a proof of concept demonstration. The majority of hacker claims like this lack that proof, such as the guy who claimed to have broken into an aircraft's control system during flight based upon his word and some screen shots. Or the hackers who claimed to be able to take over a cars controls (gas, brakes, steering) but the only proof was a member of the group driving a car they said they were controlling. If this is all they can do then they should STFU! (I would have used the emoticon but there isn't any love here for blowhards)

The navy still uses XP and the Army uses Linux because its more stable . Nuclear subs are powered by Linux too. The Air Force are the one using this old stuff witch there going upgrade in the next 10 years. Just Mostly land-based missiles are like this. VileTouch
the important part is not IF they are able to derail a train or not. trains have been derailed and hijacked in the past without computers. claiming that's the root cause is either incredibly short sighted or incredibly deceitful. think about it, if someone can take control of a train (or any other vehicle for that matter) to destroy it, then they can also do so to save it, so bear in mind that when you are pushing to lock those systems "airtight", you're also pushing to remove what may be the last hope of people in an emergency situation. technology itself is neither good or evil. but it always strikes me as hypocritical that the strongest proponents of such measures are also the ones who support the weaponization of technology...for harm. total disregard for life.
