As I said it was my opinion. You may have the permission, it may have been like that in the past BUT it's still meaningless, sorry. When this competition was first started I started watching how it would turn out. At first, it wasn't too bad... people were having conversation and so on. But now it's just bullshit. I don't want this thread to pop up in "view new content" anymore.

@The organizers of this competition - it's really not a prestigious competition in a software community. It literally encourages to spam in the sence of posting nonsense. And for crying out loud, how long are you keeping those people in the hope of getting a prize? You can see they are all desperate to get it with any means.

The weekly best poster? It's a very good motivator and a prestigous competition.

The competition of making banners and avatars? Very good, it was creative.

"The last poster wins" competition? You already know what I think.

Again, it's just my point of view. Carry on if you please.

It's not only YOU posting SMILIES. It's the general idea... at first I thought nothing was wrong with it, but it's been going on for too long and want it or not, it serves no purpose: You just have to post a lot of anything and HOPE for the golden pot. Where's the prestige in that? That's why I don't want nsaneforums to go down that road anymore. But it's not up to me, I just try to give some thinking material to the organizers behind it.

Checking out the last pages I see that this topic has turned out to be completely pointless. Only smilies and meaningless posts... maybe it was the intention of this "competition" ? Sorry, but I'm not digging it. It always pops up in "new content" but never has anything worthy to read.

The last thing I want to see is this forum becoming a competition of spam-fest and these kind of topics for people to collect postcount and hope for a prize for this.

I would like to clarify one misconception manpe.. not one single post you make in the Tavern counts on your post count..just to be clear..this was made clear to someone else by Lite earlier this week...

The Tavern is meant for fun for things that don't fit anywhere else.. and if you thought there was going to be some inspirational ray of light and hope for mankind in one of these posts... think again..

Any disagreement about this thread I think you should take up with Lite in stead of antagonizing other members about it.. or stirring up a problem. IMO

Okay, I didn't know about the posts not counting here. Thanks for clearing that out. But it's not the only point I was trying to make. I just wanted to give you the other side of the story, of what was on my mind. If you don't agree, then carry on hunting that prize - I have nothing against it since it's obviously according to rules and the compeition serves exactly that purpose (but you must read my above posts to understand that I'm not saying anything about the people who are in the competition, I'm talking about the idea of the competition as such.. hence my address to the organizers).

Well right thats understood, and the reason I said you should take this up with Lite is that he is the one who started the thread.. and yes your voice does count like everything else in the forum.. but it keeps negativity to a minimum going through the right channels.. I mean technically if this section was about objectivity the whole forum area would not exist.. No jokes.. no nothing.. There would be a lot less posts and probably a few less people..Quite a bit would be different, but I think as a part of creating a forum, the site admin may possibly be thinking that it should be fun, there should be things that drive upbeat feelings or ideal-ogy, and that regardless of the type of competition it can drive a positive aspect as well... Like helping people develop focus even.. You have to find a balance.. Its just like working out, playing football, or even working a strenuously hard job.. if you don't balance out the effect there is going to be a resulting negative effect, short tempers and so on.. At younger ages this can help focus and push someone a little harder to reach goals they have yet not achieved and the effect sometimes is not so quick to go negative.. the older you get the more you start to notice it.. and a lot of factors can come into play..but even at younger ages this can be seen too..sometimes just one thread can do the trick.. positive feedback to a something that needs to be rewarded .. which I might add can be very seldom; can even really change someones drive and perspective towards things..

This aspect can be exploited as you realize later in life you wind up being the jackass chasing the carrot on the end of a fishing line..but it is nice to have it the way it should be in a real light or sense of it existing..Morale and Motivation are not just WoW game points.. they re real factors in business and personal life as well..

Heath, I really don't think that this single "competition" brought any more members in nsane or anyone quit because of it. Yes, it may be fun to you... Fun is good, I like The Tavern and all. I think this forum has a lot of fun in it also, like the Jokes and stuff... but IMO if you want an off-topic chaotic to have fun in, then it should be merely a thread for it, not a competition. Because a competition should be with prestige, that the winner really accomplished something. You won the bronze award in a competition, you can say why with dignitiy. But if you won here, what would you say? I posted the last in a topic after 100 tries?

And why didn't I give my opinion personally to Lite only, is because I was hoping that my opinion would stir up some conversation here also :) So that it wouldn't be a tens of pages of non-readable stuff. I'm not making this into an argument, I'm just presenting my thoughts about this competition, which will hopefully be viewed by the organizers and considered. That's all I want.
