First read the COMMUNITY GUIDELINES - This is by NO means a substitute for them / basic's only !

=========================================================================

Hello New Members,

You don't want to Start Off Bad in the forums and have a PM like this one sent to you,

"You're off to a very bad start.

You need to familiarize yourself with the Community Guidelines.

failure to comply with the board rules will lead to a review

of your membership by one of our forum Administers".

---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---   ---

Staff Member DKT27 - HELPED Me by passing this (below) information along to me

when I needed it most and I want to pay it forward here to all New Members...

While you might have read the Community Guidelines,

there are some things that members do not know or remember, or try to follow.

So I must mention it to you so you remember it once, in doing so Will Keep you Out Of Trouble.

1. One is, never to request any serial, crack, keygen or any such stuff in the open forms,

if such things is posted already, then use it if you want,

But any type of REQUEST BY YOU in the OPEN FORUMS for Paid Material is NOT ALLOWED

    as per the Community Guidelines.

PM's to Members or found in a SHARECODE is perfectly fine.

In addition, posting the likes of mirror links of softwares that we list on nsane.down is Not Allowed.

2. Second is Never post any hacking stuff - keylogger, account hacking tool, unless it's hacking news /

then post it in the right forum.

Such Hacking News - site hacked, accounts hacked and such in the forums and sub-forms of

           Site Related - News - Downloads - General Discussions & Support - Off-Topic Chat

3. Third is, always search before posting and see if it is posted already,

as for searching for software's do not search version numbers,

search only software names, numbers do not give good results in searches.

All search terms need at a minimum of 4 letters.

4. Fourth, use sharecode when posting keygen, cracks, serials and such things.

http://www.nsaneforums.com/topic/21385-how-to-work-with-sharecodes/#comment-95103

5. Fifth is, watch, read and understand how things work, the better the understanding and knowledge

you will gain the more in the chances to do things correctly.

A. Let a thank you or a like of a post be wordless by using the proper designated button.

(this helps keep the forums clearer of short answer clutter and reduces the threads size).

It's works real good to let a member know of your like/thank you of the post they have made.

B. Making a post it should first observe the Community Guidelines,

post following along with the Topic of a Thread Title,

be truthful, factual, helpful in your content and nature.

Reply to a threads topic: and if it states any given rules to apply as listed in the OP -

then stay focused in your post to the topic of the thread.

Comments on other poster comments can drift fast from the main topic of the thread.

C. All Posts should be free from flaming, baiting, spam, profanities and illegal / obscene material,

and as a result should be positive, polite and constructive.

Should you come across something that isn't please use the "Report" button next to a post or

contact a staff member via a PM (Reporting Tutorial).

These are the basic things members miss, in spite of most of it being included

in the Community Guidelines.

I know this might be long or hard to understand being new members,

but taking some time to reading through the forums and understanding the Community Guidelines rules

will make you better understand all of it after a while.

*** The forums staff do wish for you to read in whole, all of the Community Guidelines rules,

(as this here is only a basic posting of that information to be found within the general guidelines)

hence BASIC,

The Forums Staff welcomes you to contact anyone of them, if you have any questions to an item or

meaning of the posted Community Guideline (rules). ***    http://www.nsaneforums.com/guidelines/

Once you start off learning the right way of interacting in the forums,

you also help out the forums staff by doing so over time.

Get to know the Forums Staff in the right way, and remember they want to help you

if you have a Question or need something explained further you can find them here

http://www.nsaneforums.com/staff/   hover over a name and chose to Message (PM) to one.

Please help out the forums staff in doing your part and start off the right way -

to do so you'll enjoy the forums more fully.    :sun:

Thank You,

SURbit

I'm just a regular member who cares about the forums and it's members (veterans and newbies), about

the staff who are taxed to the points of repeating the same old same, over and over again - as I was one

who did get into trouble right off the bat with the forums authority figures.

Though not meaning to, and really wanting to do better, and for an understanding how I got there and what

I did do wrong - I reached out for help and the understanding of why (because if you don't know you broke it),

how are you going to know better the next time - to not tread in those waters again.

This forums thread is geared to the new member's, so I feel it the right place to have this basic version of

the Community Guidelines offered.

As this post is a reflection of that help and knowledge I received, and the positioning of it here with it's related

information to and for the New Members, because it's one of the first few places their likely to visit

of the forums.

@ Dodel, I think that Server meant that of a sticky here in this thread, for the reasons I mentioned above.

@ Server, I  don't have this power to make it a sticky, though it's a good thought and the right location for it

to be added in the contents there of.

Thank you for your comments and I hope I understood and replied correctly to them.

@ jordan4x, that's so nice of you to say, I look at advanced members words, like

yourself as a feather in my hat. Not the propose and intent of my thread here though,

I care that new members be informed by whatever means they need and make contact.

The feather in my hat part is meaning I can be useful to advanced members when they

know way much more than I, that I can offer something they even can enjoy or relate too.

@ AP1972, Very true, some can see, but are still blind, never the less when one's ready and seeks

knowledge it's all around them. Sometimes the forums Moderators can make a blind person see.

@ the thread likes (members) WOW - thank you very much, I never knew till now how many

of you there was who liked this information I've passed on here, I keep coming back to see

this info. myself time and time again, it was so nice of DKT27 to offer it up.

In the Community Guidelines under Policing:
"We try to look after our members, and as such, expect the same from our members.

If there is a problem with any member on this forum, please contact a staff member so that

they can deal with it appropriately.

Please don't try to deal with these issues by yourself as it will most likely cause bigger problems".

I wished New Members would stop asking for Paid Material - in the forum and Status Updates

as they do. IN THE OPEN.

*** PM's to Members or Found in a ShareCode is Perfectly fine and method to use.  ***

This isn't right to do it other than stated in the BOLD TYPE right above ^

to where visitors can See them in the Open Forum not hidden by the sharecode method.

Bad for the Forums image in Regards to Copy Rights violations.

Not forgetting is trouble, trouble, troubling to the new members their selves.

  If you slipped up once - ok,  trouble is if you begin to make it a habit

My point is that the Community Guidelines are for all, and a REQUEST BY YOU in the OPEN FORUMS

for Paid Material is NOT ALLOWED - as per the Community Guidelines.

The Community Guidelines doesn't make a distinction of a giveaway to a software or in distinguishing

(shareware/commercial) in giveaways as being anything other than to respect copyrights.

Since these giveaways are normally offering paid for material -

I believe not taking advantage of the giveaway during the period

offered from the developers/venders site is your loss.

""Members are reminded to respect copyrights.

As such, any links or posts containing illegal content are not permitted.

This includes and is not limited to cracks, keygens, serials and "licensed" software materials."" -

from the Community Guidelines - Quote.

Although I've seen that one is able to send PM's to Members or finding it in a SHARECODE is perfectly fine.

Usually if a member has obtained extra's they will ask members to PM them.

This is the proper way in doing so, to hiding in someway from it just being posted out in the open forums -

which could/would bring nsane into legal matters undo it - for members conduct.

It's not that hard to understand in todays world - is it.

Authorities shutting down pirate sites all the time for copy rights.

Thanks for this. i have been using nsane for years and its only recently that a bit of discipline and forward planning was brought to my attention - it shoulld have been obvious but familiarity breeds sloppiness i suppoise.

I'm glad to hear this maybe has helped you some, It sure was spelled out clearer by DKT27,

then that I had understood from the first few visits I did make to the Community Guidelines

before DKT27 insightful words to me.

  • 2 weeks later...

Being new members finding your way around the forums may be somewhat hard for you, so I'll share with you what works for me and hope makes it easier for you.

The best way I've found is to start at the nsane forums index, which can be assessed by right clicking / tapping the logo in the upper most left side of every page (EX: nsaneforums / software as it should be).

After the page loads this is the index of all the sites related categories with the Forums and Sub-forms listed under each heading, Sub-forums are listed under their respective forum listing if one is offered. If you haven't found something in particular your looking for then try a search of the site. (see below)

USING SEARCHBOX:

You will always find the searchbox just under your forums name in the top right corner of each forums page, it's a very handy and helpful tool at your disposal.

Clicking in the open field of the search box, expands it and, on the left side of the search box is a dropdown menu consisting of different options for different site pages, I'll try to explain below what I've noticed offered and from what forums page.

Forums Index - Topics / Advance Search

Forum Topics   - This Forum / Topics / Members / Advance Search

Forum Topics, Topic - This Topic / This Forum / Topics / Members ? Advanced Search

of course " All Content " is always listed in the above as well but, the deeper you go in to a Forum Category, Topic/Sub-Topic, the more ways and search options you have offered to you. Search default is "All Content".

Entering a Search Term:

When you input a term in to the searchbox it needs at least 4 characters entered, (3 characters seldom works), and versions of software after it's name doesn't give a good result. So a name like "Kaspersky" or term as "drive" will most likely give you positive results.

Entering rapid search queries to fast will cause the search feature to likely time out on you for a few seconds.

* I wanted to be correct here as the Staff is always working on the site, I tried vpn and tor for search queries and did return a listing, go figure.

Well that's about it - if anyone cares to add to or has question, just ask here or comment. Need something answered please PM a Staff Member.

Hope this was helpful and informative.

Alas my friend, I only pass this on from one who knew the answers to my questions (DKT27) I just give it in (I hope) a cleaner means of short medium and fuller than what my reading CG left me with.

It helped me when I was new and lost as what I had broken/stepped out of bounds of, I'm no expert but, have learned from my mistakes. Only wishing to help other members...:)
