Batu69
Russian artist turns modern Mogelangelo to add her ginger tabby cat to great works including the Mona Lisa, Cezanne’s card players and Monet's Water Lilies Russian artist Svetlana Petrova has added her ginger tabby Zarathustra into masterpieces including the Mona Lisa He plays a hand against one of Cezanne’s card players and lays on top of the tank containing Damien Hirst’s shark They are classic works of art that have stood the test of centuries... but for Svetlana Petrova there was just one thing missing from these masterpieces: her large ginger tabby Zarathustra. So, with the help of nifty photography and cunning computer manipulation, the Russian artist has inserted her pet into a series of the artworks. Now he nestles contentedly in the lap of Mona Lisa, plays a hand against one of Cezanne’s card players and lazily stretches out on top of the tank containing Damien Hirst’s shark. With her work collected in a new book called Fat Cat Art, Petrova said: ‘Zarathustra has such a sensitive personality. He decided to become a model and adores posing for photos – he makes such brilliant poses and clever faces.’ So that's why Leonardo Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa has her enigmatic style – she’s contentedly cradling a chubby tabby on her lap. Mystery solved! That’s a swanky scratching post! In fact, Zarathustra is inserted into Jean-Leon Gerome’s Pygmalion And Galatea More pictures
