Well, not only KGs, it has a fairly high rate of false positives...

The chrome offline link sniffer tool by anuraag is also flagged as malware, even though I have reported it like a trillion times as false positive...

Check this unpacked Keygen. The original is packed with PE.Compact Internal Version. I guess, the AV was triggered for this exe packer.

Thanks to sternog for keygen supply & to FFF team for the unpack tool.

@ hawk007 actually I found it`s not the packer, because Avast devs intentionally add keygens to malware.gen detection list. Just when a brand new keygen is released, it`s not always flagged by Avast, but later it gets flagged.

@sternog, maybe, I'm wrong in this case. I use only KIS and the said file is non malicious in their scan.

But, I have seen many a times that, if any executable file is protected with Stolen exe packer or exe protector, that always flagged as a virus.  A famous case is Betamaster's Alcohol Activator; protected with a stolen VMProtect. This is as a consequence of the vendors sharing the stolen protector's signature with AV suppliers to limit it's widespread use. Since, it's their (packer/protector vendor) sole income source, they are aggressive in this.

Keygen did not work on my Win7,so used the patch, which did the job. Did I had to reboot after using the keygen ?

Still wondering what went wrong with this keygen, anyone knows exactly how to use it ??

yes, you have to quit dfx tray icon before using CORE keymaker.

Tested. It works.

BTW, couldn't even download the  Unpacked keygen, Avast immediately aborted the connection...
