Everybody has logs anymore.  Who cares.  Just stay under the radar and don't do anything you wouldn't want found out.  And of course I wouldn't doubt that the users spreading this are running the biggest piece of metadata collection on earth, that being Windows 10.

I think you gave a wrong YouTube time point to support your claim.

..what’s most clearly said by the CEO concerning logging is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ievvkJQtpKE&feature=youtu.be&t=2692

“we track the in-going IPs and we store that”...”but we do not store an IP translation”.
(this tracking is needed: “also for load balancing reasons” – he is explaining).

so, maybe, one can view this as “acceptable, tolerable logging”..haha..:))

ahhh, what a blonde, cute CG employee – noticeable shortly before his explanation…
damn, I’ll be calling a hooker again today. Damn.

CyberGhost don’t keep logs of what you do connected   only they log you’re ip when  log in there software  and  check you’re  key for anti piracy . But  the thing I don’t like about CyberGhost they use CloudFlare  CDN thorough there VPN software  and CDNs are known to log.  It was not CG  but another VPN was using a CDN  witch the VPN provider claimed the CDN they was using   turned a user in once .  But I never heard of no one tell this day getting in trouble using CyberGhost . As far as downloading from P2P I never heard of anyone using any VPN ever getting in  trouble . The ones that do log most are free and they turned in some hackers  or people who do very bad things .  A VPN can simply block  there servers to those ips that require you give them logs for p2p to not work on p2p at all.

LTNS  eXtortiOn good to see you

If you dont break the law then use it to workaround country website restrictions and the everyday business you do.  If the worst you do is download torrent and you use the software you download and you dont seed it then you should be ok download the software for personal use dont share with anyone (seed it) I tell all my friends that seed to not seed.  Im not saying your not doing anything wrong minor infractions I dont think there going to waste there time over I could be wrong I think hope they trace major stuff mostly like selling drugs going onto the tor network to find a hitman and stuff like that.  Stay under the radar like stray said and your going to be fine.  What do you do reacter that you dont want to be logged over?  Ignoring a quality torrent over a technicality is not smart.

I don’t use  cyberghost any more but if its all i had I guess I would use it . Those free giveawys only  works  on windows meaning id have  to install a vm  or something to even use it when on Linux  . The VPN im using now is only a few dollars  a month . I have software for it on windows and It works with open VPN on Linux . One myth about VPNs are you’re Anonymous when using any of them. I used CG for 2 years and never had any problem . I even used some that logged  that was free before this and never had any problems .

Having Privacy  and being Anonymous  are 2 different things . Vpn are not meant to make you Anonymous there meant to give you privacy is all.

Thread moved to Security and Privacy Center, it does not exactly belong to Software News.

While it's news, it's not an news article, so Security and Privacy Center instead of Security and Privacy News.
