Ballistic Gelatin
I have Office 2013, but I am sure the procedure is the same or nearly identical as below: Go to Insert > Header & Footer > Page Number [select type of Page Number (top of page, bottom of page, etc.)] Then go back to Header & Footer > Header [drop down menu] > Edit Header > Options > Check the box “Different Front Page†Go to Page 2 of your document and confirm that the page number [2] appears on the second page. Page numbers should then appear on each successive page, but not on Page 1.
tiliarou
I don't think this is what he asked for... And it only work if you want to differentiate the first page, but it's a good start. If you need more flexibility, you have to go to Page Layout ribbon, Breaks, Section Breaks, and choose either Next Page or other Odd/Even option to start the page number at section start.By doing so, you can have one numbering per section and then possibilities are infinite. Yeah, his question could be interpreted differently as you say. Word Help is the best source of information for page numbering, and it includes a rather comprehensive section on how to use page breaks and section breaks for special page-numbering requirements.
