Is this the most terrifying bridge ever? China completes the 'world's longest glass walkway' stretching a quarter-of-a-mile above a 980ft canyon

  • The longest and highest glass-bottomed bridge is located in Zhangjiajie, central China's Hunan province
  • Workers today joined the last set of steel decks linking the 1,230ft long structure that costs £2.6 million to build

  • Even though construction of the skywalk has finished, attraction will not be open to the public until May 2016

  • It's higher than the walkway above the Grand Canyon in Arizona, which sits 720 feet above the ground

Construction of the world's longest and highest glass-bottomed bridge has now been completed in Zhangjiajie, central China's Hunan province.

Daredevil workers today joined the last set of steel decks linking the 1,230-foot-long skywalk that hangs 984 feet above the ground, reports The People's Daily Online.

The bridge at Tianmenshan National Forest Park, which cost approximately one year and 26 million Yuan (£2.6 million) to build, beats the walkway above the Grand Canyon in Arizona, which sits at a mere 720ft high.
