Can anyone tell me what app this was ?

This may be a too-vague query, but still I hope someone with a better memory than myself can tell me...

There was a good system app thta I used for a time with XP, and it was used to selectively freeze partitions so as to keep a system clean like in a sort of kiosk mode.

It was great for systems with multiple partitions, which made it a bit better than other apps of that kind.

I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called though ?!?

What I do think I remember is that its tray icon was like a (blue ? blue & red ??) circle with a sort of man-like emblem in the center with arms up & legs sort of spread wide.

Can anyone remind me what app this was, please ??

I have a friend who is asking which one I used and I'd love to be able to answer this.

Thanks for any help !!

There is nothing I can think of that has an icon like you mention. Some of the old favorites were Windows Steady State, Returnil Virtual System, Toolwiz Time Freeze, Reboot Restore RX, Clean Slate, Drive Vaccine, HD Guard, and Centurion Smart Shield.

I had a heck of a time finding the app in question because most of those freezing type apps have limitations which fall short of working correctly with multi-partition systems.

Before posting here I looked back into all those suggested with the exception of sysreturn which I've never heard of before...and I remain uncertain.

The better news right now is that the exact app is on an ancient notebook of mine which is in the care of a distant friend who is a bit hard to reach - whom I've asked to contact me about this - so soon hopefully I'll post back with the exact answer to this question !!

Thanks for the replies folks.

I may hear from my friend tomorrow - and if I do, I'll post what I learn so as to put this mystery to rest !!
