steven36
Microsoft is actively colluding with the NSA. No software company has been quite as collaborative with the NSA as Microsoft has, e.g. in providing direct Skype access. But this is not the story which the media tends to tell; instead it focuses on companies like Facebook and Google.Microsoft offers back doors at the operating systems level, not the just Internet/communications level; the NSA as a whole has come to share a bed with Microsoft (even staff intersections exist) and this technology giant, Microsoft, also receives payments for these abuses of privacy. e.g. from the CIA, based on clear disclosures (leaks). The following articles cover examples of some of the ways in which Microsoft actively spies on people, directly (for its business interests) or as a proxy for governments.2015More Back Doors Found in Microsoft's Entrapments (Proprietary Software)The Huge, Collateral Cost of Microsoft's Collusion With Five Eyes Espionage AgenciesMicrosoft is Again Demonstrating That It is Not Interested in Making Windows SecureDebunking the Idea of ‘Secure’ Windows (or Proprietary Software, by Extension)Back Doors/Bug Doors in All Versions of Microsoft Windows Need a Name, a Logo, and Branding TooMicrosoft Back Door in Windows (All Versions) Intentionally Left Open For Over a Year, Existed for 15 Years 2014NovemberWindows ‘Update’ and NSA Back Doors, Including a 19-Year Bug Door in Microsoft WindowsCryptome Reveals How Microsoft Gives the FBI and the NSA Back Doors to Crack EncryptionJulyFormer Microsoft Engineer Working on Windows BitLocker Confirms Government Asks Microsoft for Back DoorsJuneMicrosoft and Bill Gates the Most Zealous Surveillance Proponents in the Software World MayWhen NSA/PRISM/Microsoft Skype Turns Voice Conversations Into Text in Real TimeAprilNo Need For ‘Disclosure’ of Security Vulnerabilities in Microsoft Software as Microsoft Helps NSA Crack Microsoft Software and Freely Access Data/PCs MarchSnowden Leaks Confirm That Microsoft Xbox is Target for In-House Camera Surveillance, Not Just Chat SurveillanceMicrosoft and Bill Gates Are Still Defending What’s Criminal (Warrantless Mass Surveillance)JanuaryMicrosoft’s Role in Political and Industrial Espionage Concealed2013DecemberMicrosoft Pays CBS (ZDNet/CNET) Which Calls Snowden a Traitor, ACLU Should Sue Microsoft Over SkypeNSA Does Not Need Microsoft Windows Crash Reports to Spy on Windows Users, Apple Equally Spy-FriendlyMore Details Revealed About How the NSA Infiltrates Windows and Other Proprietary Software, Governments Should Now Ban MicrosoftXbox Live Shows Even Higher Degree of Microsoft/NSA Collusion NovemberMicrosoft Windows is a Trojan Horse for the NSANSA-Created Malware Used Politically and Relied on Microsoft-Provided Back Doors/Weak EncryptionNew Revelation: Microsoft Gives the NSA Easy Access to Its DatacentresAugustThe NSA Can Now Ping to Death Windows-running PCsWindows XP Getting No More Security Patches Not the Big Issue Because It Already Has Back Doors JulyMicrosoft Collusion With the NSA Shows the Harms of Monopoly: No Perceived Threat in Hurting UsersPrivacy Scandals Are Destroying Microsoft as the Company Fails to Deny Its AbusesPrivacy Crimes of Microsoft Confirmed: Microsoft Colluded With the NSA in Criminal Surveillance (Illegal, Unconstitutional Program)Microsoft Windows Has New NSA Back Doors, Copies Spyware From UbuntuUbuntu and SUSE ‘Cloud’ Users Spied on Through Microsoft Windows Azure (With NSA Back Doors)JuneConfirmed: Microsoft Tells the NSA About Back Doors in WindowsIf You Use Microsoft Windows, the NSA Can Brick Your Computer Hardware RemotelyMicrosoft Was Lying About Skype, It’s More or Less an NSA HoneypotMicrosoft is Exploiting Children to Sell Its NSA Surveillance Engine, CBS Advertises ItMicrosoft’s Very Latest Ways of Spying on People Far Worse Than Google’s and Facebook’sProject Chess Teaches Us That the Government is Indeed Listening to Skype Calls2012Skype in Microsoft’s Hands Gives NSA Access to International PhonecallsSource
Cerberus
USA spends more time and money on spying on its own ppl instead of true terrorists out in the world. Soon the whole USA will become one big jail. Reminds of the history of Australia, it too was a prison at first then the prisoners made it into their own country. Maybe the US is going to be the same over time.

UpGrade
I shouldnt read this stuff because it makes my blood boil. But im not one to put my head in the sand either.I hope it all blows up in their face one day.Same goes for any company that operates without their customers best interests at heart. :mad2:Im the same, i think the worst part is 90% of people attitude towards it how many time i have heard people say " I don't care they can spy on me i have nothing to hide"how arrogantly stupid a comment like that is, that gets my blood boiling even more they just don't realise the things that are going on behind closed doors nowadays its so bad that it becomes unbelievable to most people.I actually know for a fact that they record pretty much EVERYTHING you do if they can they literally know more about peoples lives than the people living them its insane (Not just Microsoft) People should be taking a stand together and refusing to use the software not saying silly comments like the above. There was a quote from David Ike in a Vinnie Paz Song called End of Days i beleive this quote to be 100% accurate about how the world is now, it makes me fucking sick (Sorry for the profanity but i need to emphasize how mad it makes me) "The greatest form of control is where you think you're free when you're being fundamentally manipulated and dictated to. One form of dictatorship is being in a prison cell and you can see the bars and touch them. The other one is sitting in a prison cell but you can't see the bars but you think you're freeWhat the human race is suffering from is mass hypnosis. We are being hypnotized by people like this: newsreaders, politicians, teachers, lecturers. We are in a country and in a world that is being run by unbelievably sick people. The chasm between what we're told is going on and what is really going on is absolutely enormousThe greatest hypnotist on the planet Earth is an oblong box in the corner in the room. It is constantly telling us what to believe is real. If you can persuade people that what they see with their eyes is what there is to see you've got them. Because they'll laugh in your face of an explanation then which portrays the big picture of what's happening... and they have"
straycat19
The one thing that irks me is everybody complains but I don't see them stop using skype or windows though there are other options available. If you don't want to be spied on then you can take countermeasures to prohibit it, such as, don't use a cell phone, don't use the internet, don't use a smart tv, don't send letters or telegrams, and don't speak. Even back in the 60s, long before the internet, we were taking measures to prohibit spying, such as using 6 volt batteries to power our interconnecting cables so a wire couldn't be placed next to one and the emanations be picked up by a foreign power and point to point microwave encrypted communications. Today no one takes precautions but complain because they put their data out there and someone collects it. Don't blame any country, blame yourself. I agree that back in the 60s people was spied on but was it legal what Nixon done no he got ran out of office for the things he done . His own tapes were he recorded everything came back and backfired on him . So how is it our fault they spy on us? We didn't tell them to spy on us ? Back in the 60s they wire taped peoples land lands Illegal in there own homes. Now days you buy Cell phone or a computer and they spy on us and its fault because we use modern technology that's absurd . Only thing you can do is take precautions but it really don't mean you're safe. Its not just Skype , Its Proprietary Software period they put back doors in . If you ever sniffed apps and windows with IPs sniffers and peer block you know they call out all sort of ips they don't need too . Even apps that dont need to be online call out IPS . The more ips it calls out more of a chance its a back door in it from some country .I never used Skype in my life , Only cell phone I have is a burner that I use when away from home , I use a open source IM to chat on with encryption. Most of the time I'm on Linux any more . I don't gmail , yahoo etc not everyone is a puppet to the system . Not everyone uses windows all the time . I don't blame people because they use windows its not there fault . Its the governments fault . Many jobs require you to use computers . Its a shame people have to take precautions to even come online. We should not have to do this! We should be allowed privacy . What ever happened to being Innocent until proven guilty? If you was really paranoid you could use Ubuntu Privacy Remix were its only a O/S on dvd and you can only use it offline . Or you could use Tails O/S witch uses TOR thorough the whole O/S . Its up to you as person to decide. I don't really do anything wrong to go to these Extremes . I just use a vpn that don't log with open vpn with Linux Mint or Windows when I go on it . I just don't like being spied on is all. Ive used some sort of VPN every since 2011 .
