HX1
Okay so this is a request so hat possibly I can fix my Camera app.. I have tried so many fixes..... What I need is all of the files and folders to replace the installation inside Windows Apps directory... .. for Windows 10 x64 I would be very grateful for anyone who can copy and upload them so I can throw them back in place and see if it helps my Camera App to either fix, update or reinstall... straycat19
It's Windows 10, it's beta, do you really expect it to work. Microsoft knows it doesn't according to their blogs. So check out technethttp://blogs.technet.com/b/windowscamera/archive/2015/09/23/how-to-fix-windows-10-issues-with-usb-web-cameras-when-the-windows-camera-app-fails-to-launch.aspxOr check out these two posted fixes http://wind8apps.com/camera-app-not-working-windows-10/
HX1
Well this is the thing.. It started to fail once and in an effort to fix it I uninstalled it.. with an App Manager.. then when it fsiled to install again I ripped all of the folders and files out.... Then I tried to reinstall the app to no avail.. Now when the windows store tries to update it does this wierd thing downloading this huge file and the ending and current sizes start going up and down... I have tried three different methods of repairing it and all of the apps for that matter in one case in Powershell...So in an effort to try to fix it I thought if maybe I put original files back it maty replace something I deleted... then try the powershell commands again... and/or store update.. I have reset the store.. several times as well... Everything else works.. its just the Camera App..its sounds stupid but that is drivng me nuts.. Drove me crazy in 8.1 and the only fix I found came about by reinstalling the entire OS and starting over... and come to find out.. it was because of updates and errors caused by the store at the time.. Xbox Music and Video had both stopped working at that time...But anyway.. yeah... and in all actuality I don't have a camera installed but it used to atleast open and tell me that... I have a built-in HP Webcam.. but I never got it to work after updating and installing Windows 8.1 Enterprise.. Then I made a new partition and installed Windows 10.. sill didn't work and has not been detected in Windows 10.. took the laptop apart and checked the connections.. still have not see the light on boot like I should.. ( scared myself to death taking apart my laptop though, was afraid I was going to break something and I never got the keyboard to unplug.. :P )Trying to get the app fixed nonetheless.. Pisses me off though.. I bought the laptop brand new.. within a week started having issues with the webcam... now the camera app.. almost like someone is afraid I am going to have a working device or camera... seriously frustrating dealing with these issues system after system.OH and forgot to mention that the built-in microphone works just fine .. and it is part of the same module I believe... HX1
Okay so update... surprise of all surprises... my HP Webcam starts working.. out of the blue and is running a Microsoft Driver.. I thought t might have been a RealTek Camera driver I installed.. but no its running on a Microsoft Driver... SO after a long wait.. my camera is working.. and I am getting this error right now on the App with PowerShell..Add-AppxPackage : Deployment failed with HRESULT: 0x80073CF6, Package could not be registered.Merge Failure : error 0x80070003 : Cannot register the Microsoft.WindowsCamera_2015.1078.40.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwepackage because there was a merge failure with the following file: C:\ProgramFiles\WindowsApps\Microsoft.WindowsCamera_5.49.3004.0_neutral_split.scale-150_8wekyb3d8bbwe\resources.priNOTE: For additional information, look for [ActivityId] 91c6cc4c-1cff-0002-f92e-c791ff1cd101 in the Event Log or usethe command line Get-AppxLog -ActivityID 91c6cc4c-1cff-0002-f92e-c791ff1cd101At line:1 char:38+ ... | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.I ...+ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ + CategoryInfo : WriteError: (C:\Program File...ppXManifest.xml:String) [Add-AppxPackage], IOException + FullyQualifiedErrorId : DeploymentError,Microsoft.Windows.Appx.PackageManager.Commands.AddAppxPackageCommand..and..another entry in my logs which stated a registry entry was invalid.. so I need to find that as well...So I guess at this point I am off to download and install 6.1 GB of adksetup, so I can mount the WIM file mentioned.. ( or I might just install a second Windows 10 in my free space and steal the files - probably faster - things is I have to turn around and delete the partition... especially since I am trying to move my main install anyway a d switch 8.1 over got to pull off some tricky stuff to get tis accomplished though..EDIT: Kicking myself in the **** right now.. I have Windows 10 VB too.. :P

HX1, no need to install adk. Use Dism to mount. i.e Copy install.wim from your .iso sources folder to E:\ Create a mount directory folder E:\IMG Mount Dism /Mount-Wim /Wimfile:E:\install.wim /index:1 /MountDir:E:\IMGUn-Mount Dism /unmount-Wim /MountDir:E:\IMG /Discard
HX1
You should really post that somewhere on blog or something.. I looked for two hours and only found the above.. Nevertheless, I was able to mount a VHD of Windows 10 Enterprise x64.. and I copied and pulled the necessaries out.. however after copying them into the WindowsApps folder the app still did nothing but flash and crash.. and the update is still stuck... So I thought that I would try to uninstall it with Powershell.. to see if I could go for a fresh install... but when I did I got an error that the app could not be installed... it seems like there is a problem somewhere else in my system causing this or missing files of some sort... I did manage to fix.. five other apps however that were giving me repeated errors in Windows Store.. Probably as a result of the full app reinstall command I tried running in Powershell to try to reinstall the camera app.. Command: PS C:\Windows\system32> Get-AppxPackage *windowscamera* | Remove-AppxPackage >>> Error: Remove-AppxPackage : Deployment failed with HRESULT: 0x80073CF6, Package could not be registered. error 0x80070003: Reading manifest from location: AppxManifest.xml failed with error: The system cannot find the path specified. .
