Israeli_Eagle
Try to disable your AntiVirus and Firewall! If it works, then for sure a bad AV.

Kalju
This is the typical error (in some cases of course). Usually is missing or damaged Intel Rapid Storage Driver.Go to this page and install the appropriate driver for you.Of course, before you will install is good to uninstall the old one, if it is there at all.If this is not enough, and the error still occurs, can continue talking. There may be also some other reason.
Escritoire
Last week, I had to reinstall from scratch 3 PCs, with Win 7.Two were AMD CPUs, one was Intel. Each time, it took more than one hour of time between the first request to look for the first batch of updates and the moment it found them and displaid the details.Once found, the upgrades were quickly done.I've also had to "force" the updates on other Windows 7 machines, else nothing was spontaneously intalled/upgraded.So, it might be µ$, as there could be less update servers, or a maneuvre to push people to move to 10 [Just getting paranoid, sometimes :s ] Hope it will do for you. Kalju
Then there are the wisest to do a new and clean installation.Keep only your files and folders, but not any of the settings.Otherwise you will search this mistake for very long time and the result is still faulty Windows.I came to this conclusion several years ago - when the Windows 7 was only appeared.Windows troubleshooting is only a waste of time.
