If this is Conexant, only install drivers for that. Not realetek audio driver.

BTW, what is your Laptop Model? My ASUS zenbook ux303 also have conexant audio.

You should download AIDA64.. it is a software which will tell you what hardware you have.. from that you can figure out what you need to install. If you look at your devices in Device Manager it will also show hardware which has problems. Be sure to show hidden and disabled devices.. from this you can download the drivers by right clicking on the dropdown.. So that is how you figure out what you have and what you need. Be sure to only install drivers for your hardware and OS version and from a trusted source. Do NOT use some of the sites that come up in results if you look online for them. Adware infections as well as junk and bloatware can accompany these with their downloaders, as well as run extra programs which are not necessary for running your computer hardware and in many cases software which is not need to configure it.

If you cannot find drivers you need to go to the details tab in the device properties.. get the hardware ID and search for what that ID belongs to. This will properly identify the hardware so that you may get the necessary drivers installed.

asus a455LD

Model not listed in ASUS site!!! (my search in ASUS site revealed zero result)

It's Conexant Audio. Un-install realtek, restart, then install conexant drivers. HX1 given link will help you get the drivers.

If there are no specific drivers listed to be compliant with or for Windows 10, then it is your next best option, however if a driver exists for Windows 10, then use it over the others.. and like you said, it is correct... If these drivers do not cause issues.. Sometimes even updated drivers cause issues.. So usually after installing drivers... and restarting.. keep an eye on how your system performs.. and in the Event Viewer for errors... Sometimes rolling the driver back or reinstalling the previous driver after uninstalling the one which caused the problem will fix the issue.

In most cases Microsoft Update will take care of the drivers for your system. Only in the instance that you have manufacturer specific hardware.. or services which require drivers such as Intel - IMEI, TXE, or other ( which usually show up in the Device Manager as a problem ) .. then it is not required to download new drivers ( unless there is a problem. ) These drivers can also be touch and go... in other words one version may run well but after updating your system seems sluggish, or spotty... so you have to manually roll back and not update until next version at which point you may discover that in fact, your hardware simply does not do well, or that there was a problem wit the version in the middle.. Trial and error for the most part.
