bruinator
Hi Guys,I was wondering how you guys feel about buying an open box item such as a tablet? They said it was returned after to weeks. When I got home I asked how do I know if it was returned after 2 weeks, was refurbished or used as an in store display and the person on the phone said you dont. I was thinking on buying a open box tablet that is a samsung galaxy tab s for $335.Would you buy it? What do you think?thx
Server
Only if the warranty was the same a a new item , cause you are only saving money on a used "open box" item
HX1
This depends on the seller and the quality.. I purchased multiple Lumia 2520 Tablets for around $200 each... ( They were valued at $699.00 ea. ) When I received them they had been unlocked.. any GSM, any carrier... they are not stolen.. and they still had the original plastic on the screens.. The box was the inner box meaning no outer box.. These tables have been flawless ( besides me getting used to Windows RT and what that means, had heard of it but didn't know about the caveats so to speak but they are extremely useful ). The seller is a know distributor which runs an online store with a physical location.. Their rating was good and very high on positive customer response as left by the customers themselves.. SO.. Refurbished items can always turn around and fail again... like new.. items can be a gamble.. BUT if you purchase them through something like eBay.. you can usually return the items for a refund if not happy.. or if the item was not as expected. In fact I ran into this with one of the Power Keyboards for them.. ( wish I had returned it ) .. regardless you can also pursue unlawful activity or a problematic seller through them.. and usually resolve the issue.. I would make sure that you look the product over carefully if there are any pictures and do not pay Like New prices for something which is used... Pay something reasonable and know when to let go of the bidding table.. Read the descriptions carefully..

HX1
If you trust this store to carry great products and they have a good return policy I would say go ahead.. the 10.5 version goes for about $499.. maybe a good deal but you have other tablets out there to so I cannot advise on the price.. at that price.. I would say it better be like new.. IF it is some of the smaller ones... your getting really close to buying one new right from the store.. If you find a good seller, stay with them. HX1
Fair condition.. is not Good nor is it in Excellent condition... You can bet on scratches, buffs, maybe even a crack or two.. heavily used..I would advise against it at that price. Maybe in good or Excellent.. or NIB ( New in Box - second hand ).. but not for fair..I would keep on looking.. and you said FAIR on a receipt.. does that mean you already purchased? IF so and you are not happy I would send that little S right back as soon as you can ship it.

hawk007
Which one model. Is it 8.4", 8" or 10"?http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-8-4-Inch-Tablet-Titanium/dp/B00KHA2DQMhttp://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010OTFRYU/And, what did you mean by Openbox? If it is a refurbished item then the price is not attractive. Refurbished items will make your life hell even if price is competitive than regular offer. Flippiff
I found that refurbished items are stress tested rigorously if bought from a trusted seller even more so then a new one from factory, it is a gamble if you never purchased from the seller or his or her feedback is on the low side, even for a refurbished item there should be a short time money back guarantee if there isn't a exchange or guarantee i would pass.
