bruinator
Hi Guys,OS is windows 10 Pro and software is bitdefender total security 2016. For some reason everytime I try to access the internet I receive a page is not found message. It seems like my access to the net is being blocked. Do I need to add an exception to BDF firewall to solve this? I never had this issue in the past with BDF. If not, what eslse could coz this?thx
Kalju
talk a little bit more - if it happens, then for some sites or for all; if this happens, then how do you get to the internet or do not catch at all; do you are using Wi-Fi, cable, ...etc. whether it has the same effect in all browsers do you also use some VPN something else that has not been asked here ... HX1
This could be happening for several reasons... Providing all of the normal issues have been looked at or addressed... ( assuming this has to do with the security software as it and your OS was the only things mentioned... but IF those things have been addressed then I am going to list a few other problems.. 1. Temporary ISP issues.. 2. You are already maxing-out your bandwidth and no response is being received due to time out. 3. There has been an infection which is installed from Unzipping files which are zipped and zipped again.. They install Privoxy and your browsers start loading extra ads.. when you try to connect to the internet.. your system tries to use a misconfigured proxy.. and after your computer goes through slowness and several performance issues it may or may not connect only allowing you through a few times while ads and other bs loads just fine.. Look in Task Manager and in your installation directory for it as it is an indicator and clean your system thoroughly if you do. INCLUDING checking your Internet Options and the way your system connects to the Internet. 4. Check for registry settings ( a scan with Hitman would reveal them ).. Old school registry to shut off your Net Card... also check your connection by going to it and to Properties.. check properties for your IPv4/6.. make sure nothing has been changes there. 5. If this only happened last night check again... Several places were down all over. 6. Things mentioned above... make sure that if you have any filtering on your not blocking the necessary communications ports and services as they are required to have a connection to the Internet. 7. See if you can connect with the other card ( Wireless/LAN ) could be a driver issue. Just some troubleshooting tips.. ...and I am sure you tried disabling and re-enabling your card,, and Diagnostic with Windows as well as rebooting your modem/router and double checking its settings for any changes.. Some cirmumvention techniques include a complete reset to default and some will even allow for an attacker to login and take complete control of those settings.
