HX1
I found this helpful when trying to upgrade my Click-to-Run Installation of Office 2016 to the current Release.. Symptom: When trying to upgrade Office 2016 you receive an error stating that the operation cannot be completed, an uninstall has to be done or that you cannot install this version of Office because an x32 version is installed and you must uninstall it before installing a x64 version. When trying to uninstall Office 2016 Click-to-Run, the uninstall fails.. Medicine: This page will show several instructions on how to properly remove a Click-to-Run installation of Office and upgrade to official release versions and proper installs without Click-to-Run. Uninstall Office 365 2013/2016 Click-to-Run or other Installation Downloading the Fixit from Microsoft fixed the issue and uninstalled all versions allowing me to install properly.
