rashad
If you want to install a software that is going to integrate with windows explorer (shell) it'll ask you to restart windows after the installation, this is due to the fact it software can't integrate while while explorer is running, sometimes it'll ask for restart because of files being used by other applications can't be overridden/modified while those applications are running. So how can you avoid restart as much as possible? follow those steps and you most likely to avoid restart:Close all running applicationsStart the application setupNow press run Task Manager either by:pressing Alt+Ctrl+Delete then clicking on "Task Manager" orby pressing Ctrl+Shift+Esc or right click on the task bar and choose "Task Manager"On the "Processes" tab look for "explorer.exe" select it then click "End Process" don't worry that task bar is gone and your desktop disappeared we will return them shortlyContinue the setup as normal hopefully it'll not ask for restartNow back to the task manager -if you closed it start it again using one of the methods mentioned above- from the file menu choose "New Task(Run...)"In the "Create New Task" window type "explorer" without the double quotes and click OK, now the desktop and task bar are back :PThis method was tested with 7-zip and TeraCopy and both integrates with windows explorer.Note:This method will not work 100% of the time, installing applications that integrates deeply in windows such as anti-virus is always better followed by restart.Disclaimer:This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and no liability for any damage that may occur.
