Windows 10 Malicious Keylogger Claims 'Overblown'

https://www.infopackets.com/news/9373/windows-10-malicious-keylogger-claims-overblown

But here it is Sept 2015 and new articles go up everyday telling you to how to get rid of there keylooger they claim they dont have . :P

The thing was everyone thought they was going stop logging once it was released but release version still doses it . So we caught them in a tall tell again!

+ they added extra spyware to Windows 7, 8 and 8.1

Seems to be promotional stunt to make people think that Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 collect data too so you may as well update too Windows 10 because they all do. If M$ was not playing with peoples minds they would make these updates for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 mandatory but there just optional . Last time I checked that's called reverse psychology and 3 wrongs dont make a right . :P

No there not NSA ..More like MicroGoogle. M$ seen Google can make more money than they can by just harvesting data and they seen they are no longer able sell windows since they made windows 7. So they gave you windows 10 but you really pay for it from them mining you're data . They dont do nothing other big companies has not been doing for years. The fun part will be to if see will anyone buy spyware once its no longer free in the summer of 2016 or will just flop like windows 8.1 did?

I think Microsoft will suffer from Windows 10 in the end; more people will switch to Ubuntu/Linux

Things are sure not like they use to be that's for sure .Microsoft has already been suffering for years . People who use Linux are mostly software geeks who visit forums and stuff.

Its never been a mainstream O/S i tested it before . Right now Windows 10 is beating out Linux and Mac . When ever Linux starts beating out Windows and making great programs like they have for windows Ill switch too it but I dont see that happening . People rather stay on XP without updates than use Linux . People who use it are almost as bad as M$ evangelist but fact remains no one much uses it so its just hype . ;)

correct; could be a good idea just to install XP + virtual Windows 7

Why would I do that? Ive not used Windows Xp but in a vm since 2010 . most people will just stay on windows 7 like they did xp or use windows 10 . You dont have to install those updates that spy on you in windows 7 or windows 8.1 . I been on x64 that long too i like and O/S that lets me use all my ram and cores.

too complicated imo .in my case (don't wanna participate in endless fight with M$) -just 7 Ent with manual updating.it's ok(at least 4 now).

any trouble but same result.

btw.Linux is pretty good idea also ,it's not for geeks imo, just not for gamers ;)

I take what the so-called experts say with a grain of salt since most of them have been vetted by Microsoft and are MVPs or some such nonsense. If you want to know what data windows is sending it is a simple matter to setup a sniffer and check all the outgoing packets and see for yourself. Keylogger - no, but they might as well have put one in with all the data they are collecting. And when they tell you that they have the ability to remove software and hardware from your system if they don't like it, just how much privacy and control do you think you have. I have always said I don't want all the bundled accessories, etc that they put into windows. They finally get rid of media center and add a worse piece of shit Cortana. Unless you play games, there is no reason to stick with windows any longer. I'm not a Microsoft hater, just a privacy lover.

try telling this to the billion + users that still use windows and the other 1.5 billion that uses phones . I dont even have Cortana. , Edge ,the store or anything to do with sandboxed windows apps installed anymore. I dont see the use in installing 2 or 3 o/s just to do what i like to do.

Its not just games ether most of the software I use there's no version for Mac or Linux . :P

“Microsoft is recording what you type and say,” says one random website vaguely reporting on Windows 10, written by an author who has likely never participated in the Windows Insider program simply to saturate the search engines for traffic purposes. “Microsoft is recording EVERYTHING you type,” another site you’ve probably never heard of emphatically proclaims. These so-called tech sites (or borderline tabloid sites) get paid by the clicks, so it makes sense to see these rambunctious stories on Windows 10. Unfortunately, sites like these get a large amount of traffic because controversy sells, right?

I know myself and my team, as well as the majority of the community here, have been involved in the Windows Insider program since day one. We’ve reported on and tested every single Windows 10 preview build and have provided necessary feedback while understanding and accepting the terms of the program. The truth is Windows 10 does gather some of your data, but not in the traditional sense and definitely not as a malicious keylogger. In fact, I think there are people out there who legitimately think Windows 10 has a malicious, hidden keylogger out to cause harm, having absolutely no clue about Microsoft’s intent or the premise behind the Windows Insider program.

First of all, what is a keylogger? A keylogger is short for keystroke logging, the action of recording or logging the keys struck on a keyboard. This is typically done in a covert manner, where the victim is unaware their actions are being monitored. Keyloggers are typically considered spyware, since they contain any information you may have typed, such as email passwords, bank account details, etc. When you think of a keylogger, you think of something malicious, something harmful, something sneaky.

Read more here >>

But are you sure that you wrote?

Anyway, Windows 10 keeps track of all your actions and stores them.

No wonder such a worthy software maker, as the company O&O Software, has released its portable program O&O ShutUp10.

LOL, no offense.

...I'm not paranoid, but trust yourself and trust more O&O Software than M$. In this particular case

:D

proof (video removed from youtube at the insistence of M$): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-8oaC4-MIHga2hpeDlTOG5pMDA/view?pli=1

No it doesn't prove anything ! Especially whet it comes from O&O itself.

Proof would be making a tutorial for win10 users outhere se they can test and decide for themselfs ! All the rest is BS

I agree and think its all propaganda bullsnot.

Sounds like more M$ propaganda to me . From My own testing with a IP sniffer . I know windows 10 calls out 10 times more than windows 8 did and that's after you turn default collecting off . When a O/S has a whole section dedicated to turning on/off data collecting and you turn all of it off and they still call out that's doing it without you're permission.

O&O are not the only company that makes these tools are were they the 1st ones to launch them. I dont care if you care about you're privacy are not . But you dont speak for everyone I tweaked windows 10 and blocked everything i could . because I care about mine.

Right..., right, M$ propaganda... Well, i don't get in discussion, it woud be just pointless.

All i have to say to all of you "security stressed" nsaners is, welcome to 21'st century, and good luck with your iPhones, Androids or WinPhones. In the mean time, enjoy the superb nsane forum

I dont use none of those other things iPhones, Androids or WinPhones . I'm not a hypocrite . Only my concern is what happens to me on my PC. I only have a Burner and a house phone . Also I'm not prejudice. I hate all forums of data harvesting .

But you tell people should make a tut when people already did prove it that's why its all up in the news everyday. . ;)

News ?! What news ? Cmon man ! I think you would be better off living in a bunker :D

I also don't like being spied on, but overrating it !? Isn't the big G doing it all these years ? Isn't the fruit company doing it ? Isn't YOUR own ISP gathering info about you ?? I just don't understand the hype of "suddenly M$ spying" I'm not saying that they are not collectin data, but i think, its just to improve user experience.

Cmon guys lets get realistic. Sometimes some of you sound like they have had a career with KGB

EXACTLY thank you very much and touche' very well said. I didnt mean to double trying to keep up with all the threads.

Microsoft has come under fire ever since it installed the keylogger in Windows 10. The feature was first seen when the preview was rolled out with the company claiming that the idea was to “collect voice information,” and “typed characters” off users. The feature is up and running on the full version of Windows 10 as well, enabled by default. Hence, Microsoft has a track record of each button you have pressed since installing Windows 10, and each time you requested something off Cortana.

Windows 10 speech, inking, typing, and privacy FAQ says: “When you interact with your Windows device by speaking, writing (handwriting), or typing, Microsoft collects speech, inking, and typing information—including information about your Calendar and People (also known as contacts)…”

we don't get paid for critisizing Microsoft; we just want our rightful privacy.

The operating system collects it but its not sent to microsoft thats a given how else is a personal digital assistant going to be your "personal digital assistant". Your doing what the hackers did in the movie live free or die hard piecing together parts of video cutting off what people are really saying and putting it together in a way that supports your arguement.

believe what you want to believe; the truth is different

Microsoft openly admits to logging you speech , voice and typing.. so there's nothing to argue . They say they do it but you can turn it off . Seems you just want to argue? So Im going quit responding to you because you still debate something M$ said not me . You ask for me to show you and I did!

Without a doubt, Microsoft has well played with the privacy of its users through its Windows 10 OS. The new operating system has been, by default, configured to keep track of your usage and even keep an eye on your folders and files. Microsoft’s new privacy statement is indeed a scary one! It isn’t definitely a bad thing to update your privacy, but having all users selected by default is not a user-friendly privacy policy at all.

I just want to argue if thats what I have been doing you have been replying back to me looks like we are all arguing. I was typing a post and my computer restarted to install windows updates. Ill stand corrected if microsoft ever goes to court over privacy infringement not patent infringement (I remember when microsoft went to court over live tiles thats patent infringement obviously) and your right about disabling what you want disable what you can control and standby and hope they fix what you cant I posted that before. I used google now on my android its fun and funny to use im sure it collects information I know siri does. Thats fine if you dont want to agree to disagree I am the the thread says malicious keylogger its not malicious is microsoft going to hijack one of your steam accounts I think not.

I was not even paying any mind to you but you quoted my post and you posted like a bunch time in a row to even get a response from someone?

Microsoft dont own steam last i checked . The whole thing is they collect a bunch data to make ads and to try improve windows etc. But I did not volunteer to be a beta tester .

Now there in a legal battle were the police wants them to give up there logs of what you do were they keep you're data because you use there services .

This why I uninstall all there services . Sometime law enforcement will try to blame stuff on you that you didn't even do . If they lose this battle in NY it may become conman for companies to give you're info .

Can I have a link to this legal battle. I can do a google search for it I am lazy right now. No microsoft doesnt own steam valve does and I ended up making a mistake and clicked on a link I shouldnt have (I made a mistake and have rectified it). Everyone makes mistakes and I think microsoft made a mistake by forcing windows updates I think microsoft is going to correct everything that has happened this year or next we just have to standby and hope for the best (hope for the best expect the worst).
